I was seen in Urgent Care on 6.16.23. I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia.
I was prescribed multiple antibiotics, and inhaler and Diflucan. The Pharmacy was not able to fill my RXs until pick up on 6.17 because they were short staffed. The Tech Told me they were not able to fill the Diflucan because it had severe side effects to a medication I take Amiodarone. They said they were going to reach out to the MD. to se if there was an alternative I could take. I said no if I needed it I would contact the MD. I took the prescribed medications for the 5 days. I still wasn't feeling better so I went back to Urgent Care on 6.23.23. I was prescribed another antibiotic which I picked up in drive through that evening. When I got home I noticed there were 2 prescriptions in the bag, the antibiotic and Fluconazole. I didn't think much of it. This is for yeast infections that sometimes happen from antibiotics. I researched Fluconazole and saw it has potential side affects of heart attack and possible death when taken with Amiodarone. I had told this to a friend and she had a Pharmaceutical Attorney contact me about a legal case. I wanted to contact CVS first.
Desired outcome: I want to avoid any legal proceedings as I retired from CVS and have always stood by them. I would like an apology and monetary compensation for the dispense error.
