I’m reaching out because I am very upset about how a manager at Ross handled a “refund” transaction. My mom went in to Ross on 05/01/23 to purchase a dress when she got home she tried it on and realized she didn’t like it so she decided that she would return it but she also noticed that a receipt was never given to her. On 05/02/23 she went into Ross to return her dress. The cashier couldn’t return it because she didn’t have a receipt so my mom told the cashier that a receipt was never given to her. The cashier called over the manager named Monette, who was very unprofessional and rude. Monette told my mom that she could only give her $13 back because she had not brought in the receipt. So my mom told her that she needed to check the cameras because she was never given a receipt, not only was she not given a receipt but also had paid with her debit card so one way or another she had proof of the transaction. Monette left and checked the cameras and came back and blamed my mom for not taking her receipt when it WAS NOT given to her. I never knew that we ourselves as the client needed to reach over to grab a receipt. She was very rude about the situation she specifically said “you never took the receipt man” “if I check the cameras and see that you have the receipt I will only give you $13 back”. Now I’m confused why only $13 when she paid $21.54 where does the rest of the money go? I have never heard of a manager only giving partial credit back? Monette is a horrible manager and shouldn’t be representing any store with that attitude that she has. A manager is supposed to make a better outcome of a situation and make a customer feel good about going into their store. She did the total apposite, she made my mom feel like she was committing a crime trying to return a dress that she clearly bought from there. My mom always would go to that Ross because she loves that store but she no longer wants to go because of that manager.
Desired outcome: Someone needs to teach her better customer service skills because she doesn’t have any.
