Unistar Federal Credit Union was acquired by USAlliance at the end of 2008. Doing business with Unistar was always simple and straightforward. Since USAlliance has taken over, the customer experience has been a nightmare. When I went to the EZstarinfo.com website where I always paid my Visa payments through Unistar once US Alliance had taken over, one day, I'm told that I can no longer make my payments there. At no point was I ever notified by US Alliance of this change. When US Alliance launched its own web site, it was a and is a mess! It's impossible to navigate with a million different windows and looks like it was designed by a three year old. There is no way to reach these people by phone. I was on hold for over an hour today after multiple phone calls to customer service to dispute a charge on my credit card statement. No one ever answers. When I tried to use their live chat at their web site, I received a message that it was unavailable and to try and call a number that I have been tryin to reach with no success for many days. They give you an option to leave a message which 've done in the past but no one ever returns my calls. Are there other members experiencing this run around? asically all they're available to do is collect my money. I'm outraged.

This is concerning the West Haven CT branch (although dealing with corporate is a joke as well)...They lost/misapplied/maybe stolen several of our payments that we come in and pay in person monthly. They told us the only way to fix the problem was to sign up for automatic payment (which we were reluctant to do considering their track record with us). But they however gave us no choice as they had already sent someone to repo our car based on their errors and told us that was the only way they could fix it (repo guy said he was coming and would charge an additional $600) so we caved out of fear... SAD BUISNESS PRACTICE. Plus no one there ever knows what is going on (probably the high turnover). And the "supervisor" is so obnoxious and childish, had the nerve to smirk and laugh about the entire situation when I had actually sat down and paid HER IN PERSON MORE THEN ONCE.

I paid my car off, I have receipts to prove it. They put derogatory information on my credit report. It states unpaid auto charge off. They won't release my title. I have receipts. They won't return my calls. They had there lawyer call me back. One of the assets managers referred to me as you people.

I opened an account with US Alliance FCU (Wallkill, NY) last month and what a mistake it was. They never ordered checks for me. I applied for a credit card and that was declined, which was no big deal. Someone at US Alliance took it upon themselves to apply for a loan when my application for a credit card was denied! I never asked anyone to do that and was glad when I found out that was also declined. I find it interesting that I can get a credit card from every other bank but not US Alliance FCU.
I downloaded their app on my Android tablet. Half the time it tells me I did not answer my security questions correctly, so I can't access my account information. I tried to sign up for text alerts and that failed. When I called customer service, I was told that the app only works well on smart phones, not tablets. They are trying to fix the problem. As far as text alerts goes, I need a smart phone to use that feature. I don't own a smart phone and am not going to buy one just so I can use US Alliance's mobile app.
The only thing US Alliance has gotten right is the direct deposit of my pay check. I now wish they screwed that up too.
I agree with you. Their web site is NOT user friendly. I had more trouble finding out how to sign up for text alerts.
I have yet to see LIVE CHAT working. There is NO Live Chat.
The people are friendly, but that's where everything stops. The good thing is, I didn't close the account with the bank that US Alliance was replacing. I have to wait a bit before I can switch my pay check back to being direct deposited to that bank and then I will be leaving US Alliance FCU. I'm hoping I can get the money back for the checks that finally got ordered. They can have them back since I haven't used any of them yet.
Now I know why I never see any cars in their parking lot, except for the ones their employees own. I wonder how they stay in business?
