I have been a UCLA patient since 2016. I have had multiple procedures, surgeries, treatment at UCLA facilities over this period including a liver transplant related to cancer for which I will be a UCLA patient for probably the remainder of my life. I had a suspected COVID infection over New Year's which the transplant team asked me to go to the ER for as I had a 102 degree temperature. I drove down and checked in, sat in a tent in the rain outside the ER most of the afternoon and after 4 or 5 hours my temperature had dropped and I felt I was no longer in any significant danger. I informed the nurse that I was going home and left without ever being seen. I later received a bill for $350 which is my deductible. I suspect the actual bill was more. I challenged this bill twice and the billing department denied the challenge both times. I am quite happy to pay for care, I have throughout the year received additional care that I have been quite happy with and happy to pay for. I am just not happy to pay $350 for an afternoon of misery in the waiting tent and never received a diagnosis or treatment. I am not even sure I ever saw an actual registered nurse. Pertinent information is as follows: Date of "service" was 1/2/23. My account number is [protected], Guarantor number is [protected].

Desired outcome: I would like the ER charge removed and to be billed for all treatment which has followed. I will be quite happy to do a full catch up after my insurance has done their part.
