Recently in January of 2026, Tumblr wrongfully terminated the account of a supportive and positive voice in the queer community, with their content flagged as "gore or mutilation." This blog has never once posted such content and I believe it was an issue of trolls who decided to mass report the blog's content until it became deactivated. Tumblr has always had a serious issue with blogs being terminated due to the bigoted actions of some of its users, and it particularly happens to marginalized users - the queer and Black communities get hit the hardest. This does not create a safe place for queer users to connect and share their experiences when at any moment, tons of content can vanish overnight for no good reason. I want Tumblr to do better for their user base and to have better hands-on moderation of blogs, instead of allowing an automated system to erase our history.
