Dear Person
Please see below attached. It shows our reservation for Hyatt hotel in Honolulu From 4/25 - 4/28/2025. We made reservation o 4/20/25 and had confirmation same day attached.
Then we got another confirmation 4/23/25 attached.
To our surprise as we arrived in Honolulu to receive email of cancellation because credit transaction didn't get thru. The sad thing is we were not informed by Travelzoo of the situation so we can address it immediately.
This is big mistake and very harmful to us as we checking in 4/25 morning we been told that reservation is canceled and your office did zero effort to help in this situation.
We had to pay almost double as their was a pediatric convention.
My question how any one can trust you:
1) you confirm the reservation twice 4/20 & 4/23
2) Fail to inform us of cancelation till the day and time of checking 4/25
No email, phone call, voice mail or text.
3) Your team did zero effort to mitigate this error and dumped the whole situation on us to find another accommodation while a convention of 9000 doctors as we been told.
Recommendation: Avoid
What happened here is catastrophic on every single level — Travelzoo confirmed your stay twice and then canceled it upon your arrival. There was no warning and no support; just a cancellation that would leave you stranded in a city replete with sold-out accommodations and out twofold expenses. That goes far beyond negligence; it’s desertion.
You were owed a full refund for the difference in rates together with a formal apology for not only the blunder, but even more so for the complete gap in communication and support when it was needed most. Still, they failed you and their attempt to shift the blame is pathetic. Keep fighting — don’t allow them to bury this under layers upon layers of paperwork.
