In my initial review I gave them a wonderful review. However, I am in my 3rd year of playing and the game continues to force spending at higher and higher amounts. They don’t want some of your money. They want all of your money. If you participate in their special events, you must play very every single day and be able to play often, all through the day and night, just to complete these events. If you miss even a single days tasks, you will not finish! or you must SPEND TONS OF real MONEY to speed up the process so you can complete tasks. This becomes very disappointing when you have worked so hard! I had a small co-op and each one of my members, who were dedicated AND willing to spend a reasonable amount each month to play, have all basically quite playing, due to cost INCREASES alone. For example. They run these mini games that you can play. This will be attached to a decoration renovation which is the actual draw to get you to participate. With each level you win in game, you get to pick a new decoration for your design. Your finished product is then displayed so all who enter your town, can see it. It is sort of a trophy, a badge of honor. But, these trophies, are NOT CHEAP. The game will require level ups in order to pass each level. It will be impossible to pass the levels without spending real money on these level ups and also you must still spend huge amounts to get extra turns or you will not pass these levels. The algorithms are set to fail. (Like you must collect 46 green cubes but you only have 11 turns and the game releases only 15 green cubes, so you must spend $25 tcash for an extra 5 turns, and this price increases $5 more with each additional 5 turns needed). The amount of money you have to spend to finish each of these games could easily be well over $100 of real money! (I quit playing these but have received several reports from other players as well). The way it works in this game is, You use real money to buy packs of Township cash, so you may spent $60 real money for 1400 in t-cash or you may get a deal pack, the game will offer different deals to players depending on their history of spending, the more you spend, the worse the deals are, that’s right, the worse, they keep their big spenders spending more!) and it will take all of your tcash AND MORE...to complete these renovation games. This does NOT include all the other items you will be required to spend money on as they often run 3 events at the same time that all pressure you to spend spend spend. This of course is ridiculous!

That said, the designers have done a remarkable job with how much there is do in this game and how everything works together. The graphics really are excellent. You can literally play everyday, every few hrs and be very busy or you can skip going in for days or weeks and it will all still be there waiting right where you left off. You will however miss out on all the events and special decos and so on and being part of a competitive co-op will be impossible if you don’t spend.

For the first few hears I played, I was always of the opinion that I didn’t mind spending a little in order to have a game that offered so much and for the first few years you could get by without spending to much and still be a valuable co member...HOWEVER, these Developers have become very greedy. It has been heartbreaking watch to prices of the events increase while the difficulty of the games also increase and the rewards all decreased. To watch your friends all quit due to pricing of events and not wanting to let others down, they opt out. Not to mention, the devs closed the main forum where we could reach out with out with our concerns and input or get helpful hints and talk with other players and get feedback. Now, you can no longer even reach help and support from within the game, they have disabled the contact button. So, after all these negative changes, my in game co-op team has fallen apart. I truly believe If they would lower the prices, I think they would make more money. I think players are willing to spend some. But, when you spend money and still don’t get to enjoy the game because they want More money and More money and it’s never enough, that is not o.k., people are quitting game rather than deal with it. So, If spending $50 a month sounds reasonable to you. You may enjoy certain aspects of this game for awhile, but you will become disenchanted soon enough. If spending $150 a month is reasonable to you will do good in this game for awhile longer. If spending $300 a month or more is reasonable to you, you will love this game and be too competitor. Keep in mind, this is how they make it “competitive”. It’s never how good you are at game, it’s how much are you willing to spend that determines how competitive you are! It’s the big spenders that win all the events! So...If spending No money is where your at, this game won’t be something you enjoy for long. You will be impressed with graphics for a good while but, will never be able to really become part of the game. Especially not if you are part of a co op who participates in the regatta races and other events. They will all require spending money. I gave 3 stars because of the amazing graphics and design. It is an amazingly beautiful and creative game no doubt. Just off the charts greedy!
