Too Good To Go Great idea but hard to use with food allergies

I love that this app gives users a bargain and helps to reduce food waste! I have enjoyed trying it out but probably won’t use it often because it was challenging with my food allergies.

I have tried the app at a few businesses in my area. At one the staff asked me about allergies and nicely packed a bag based on my input. Another gave me a prepacked bag. And at one place they packed a bag when I got there but seemed very frustrated when I mentioned dietary restrictions (though I can eat almost everything they sell).

I think the app could better accommodate customers with dietary restrictions with a few enhancements:
- Encourage businesses to include a bit more of a description of the type of items they provide. I understand that it will vary, but even a general description or an example of typical items would be helpful.
- Add a flag to identify businesses that are willing to try to accommodate dietary restrictions.
- Allow users to share comments about their experiences with participating businesses, such as what kind of food they got.

Too Good To Go No customer service option for issue resolution

I used app for first time and ran into a problem. I placed my food order in this app for pick up from an establishment in my area. In the parking lot, I swiped to indicate I was on premises for my pick up. When I walked up to the door, the establishment was closed and there was a sign in the window they had moved to another city. I called the 1-800 number in the window for the new location but could only leave a message. In the meantime, I mistakenly—or actually I think it was the only way to move to another mobile screen in the app—I clicked on the “picked up” icon. So I paid for a meal I never got and was stranded at a closed location. Today, again I called the food vendor who told me they informed the app marketing dept that my location had closed but obviously the app did not get updated. I tried all the options in the app portal to try and report this problem and get refunded but it is all automated and each option led to a dead end. I even went online to look for contact info and their website directs you to report within the app. Not good.

Too Good To Go Some food items SHOULD go…

I used this application and was extremely excited to (hopefully) get a great value with some decent food, but also to help the environment by reducing food waste. I selected a pizza place with a 4.6 rating out of 5 star rating. Seemed like a good start for my TGTG experience. The claim was that I would receive “a $15 dollar meal for $4.99”. Great deal I thought. EXCELLENT DEAL! Anyway, what I received in my suprise bag WAS a surprise. 5 slices of pizza that looked like thad sat out for 8+ hours. 1 pepperoni slice, 2 sausage slices, 1 margarita slice and 1 white broccoli. My issue… this is not “a meal”. It’s scraps. I would rather have taken that $5, gone to the store and made my own (better and fresh) meal. I give the application 3 stars due to the good idea, the ease of use, and the whole process (how smoothly it went). However… the product that you will get, the actual “food”. PEOPLE… do not do it unless you don’t mind eating 8 hour old food (which hey, a lot of you do judging by all the high star ratings). The food you will get….. it SHOULD HAVE GONE!

Too Good To Go Needs more information

I love the app, every mystery bag that I have gotten has been a great price and great items.

My issue comes with the “ingredients and allergens” section. What is the point of having that if it’s A) going to say the same thing for each store/restaurant? and B) not give any details for what could potentially be an allergen in the bag?

The way this section should be utilized is the store/restaurant should send in a list of ingredients that they use and the app should list what is commonly found in the bags (ex. “Bag may have soy based foods, egg based foods, meats, dairy products” etc.

It’s very annoying and seems useless. It also then takes more time on the users end to do further research on the food that can be offered in the bags. If this was vetted a bit more, there would be more transparency and more people may be inclined to save bags.

It doesn’t ruin the mystery if the stores tell the company what would potentially be in the bags that week or set up the allergens that day for the app, it would be really helpful for those that want to support those businesses and save the waste.

Too Good To Go Took money and didn’t give me anything for it

I made an order on this app and then went straight to the store to pick it up. I was well within the time frame given and the store was closed. As it was my first time using the app I was confused so I waited for a while in the rain thinking someone at the back might bring me something eventually. There was no one inside so ofc this didn’t happen. I submitted a complaint form with pictures attached that I took thru the app (so they didn’t save onto my phone) and then three days later I get an email asking me for photos and for the order number and date and time of my request etc and I was like “why did I submit this in my complaint form if you’re just gonna ask me again?” I did not say that but I explained that I didn’t have any of that information anymore and didn’t remember because it had been days. Basically they’ve stolen my money and I’ve gotten nothing and it’s frustrating it takes 3 days to get this sorted and whatever the system they have, it doesn’t work since the full details of my complaint didn’t go thru and this poor employee has to follow me up because she doesn’t have access to all the info in my complaint. It’s super frustrating, do not trust this app cuz you will not get your food.

Too Good To Go nice in theory, but

...it needs work. a lot of work.

the rating system seems intentionally misleading and vague. they interchange metrics (3 stars vs 4 stars) and hope you won’t notice. for instance, “80% of customers rate this place 3 stars or more” could mean that 80% rate the restaurant at 3 stars, 20% rate it at 4 stars, and 0% rate it at 5 stars... OR it could mean that 100% of customers rate the restaurant at 5 stars. just use a star system like every other rating website does?

additionally, it’s super easy for restaurant owners to game the system. i paid $5 for a bag valued at $18.. i got a reheated can of Campbell’s soup that probably cost the restaurant less than $1. i lost money on food that i didn’t even eat (i love clam chowder but not old canned chowder) and i lost money on gas driving over there. i reached out to the company via the receipt for a refund and did not receive a response.

for this to work, it needs to be fruitful and fair for both restaurants and customers, there need to be consequences for restaurants who cheat customers and they need to have a responsive customer service team for when these things happen. buying a “mystery bag” of anything requires trust and i don’t feel like this company presents itself as being very trustworthy. i hope they get things ironed out.

Too Good To Go Great concept but execution could be much better

I have only used this service once as a result of it being poorly executed. I arrived at the restaurant at the start of the pick up time. They didn’t have my order. They had no food remaining and were dismissive. I biked 2 miles to get it so it was a huge waste of time and effort. Not only did Too good To Go customer service not provide me with compensation / discount for a future order but I had to wait more than a week for the refund.

The app is also not that great. I don’t have an issue with the distance shown being a straight line like others have noted - that’s what Google maps is for! My problem is lack of selection - only the same 3-5 places show up within 2 mile radius and I’m in a dense area just a few blocks away from a very big and famous university with tons of restaurants in the area. The description of what might be offered is often very vague and we have no idea why places get the score they do. I understand we shouldn’t rate places like Google or Yelp as these establishments are doing us a favor but it helps to know if my bag is going to have boba tea or a sandwich? Is it going to be a meal or dessert / pastries? Will it have meat? I just called up a pasta joint that always shows up in the app. I thought I’d be getting cooked ravioli but was told it’s uncooked bits of fresh pasta. That type of info would be useful to have in the app.

Too Good To Go Good, But App Could Be Improved

This is a great service that helps to fight food waste. It’s also a nice way to discover businesses in your area that you might not have known about and sample their offerings. However, the app itself could use some improvement.

One issue is that there are some points in the day when the data in the app fail to load and you are stuck at looking at the animated Too Good To Go logo in a white box - sometimes this occurs in the middle of the night but I have also seen it take place during the middle of the day. I hope this never happens to me when I’m going to pick up an order and need to show it to someone in a store and swipe in the app to collect.

Another issue is that the distances shown in the map are straight line (or “as the crow flies”) and don’t take into account the street grid or bodies of water such as rivers. While this approach might work fine for some areas it isn’t best suited for a dense urban environment where there are numerous businesses. Even when I have the filter set to the minimum 1 mile distance I see locations that are actually much further away because they would first require walking to a subway station or to a ferry landing to cross a river. I have found that it’s easier to judge distances by looking at the “Map” view instead of the “List” view under the “Browse” option, but there is no “Map” view available under your “Favorites”.

Too Good To Go DESPERATELY needs a button to zero in on your location

I love this service! However, it DESPERATELY needs a button to zero in on your location! Every single time I open the app, I have to tap Browse, then zoom like 4 times and move the map around just to see if the bag at the end of my block is still available. I do this multiple times a day because I don’t know at 10am if I’ll still be around my house at 8pm. I really prefer to use the map view and would absolutely love an option to start on the map view zeroed in on my current location. I don’t need to see the entire Bronx and even New Jersey every time I open the app. I live in Brooklyn for Pete’s sake.

Also, stop pushing the auto update feature on restaurant owners. It makes their business always say bags are available tomorrow even though they may not be. I think it hurts the dependability of your service. Many owners don’t understand what it does and it winds up saying that all of these restaurants have leftover bags available when they do not actually have it. I feel like it should say there is nothing available until the store owner physically goes in there and updates it to say there is something. I’ve helped one of my local spots figure out what was going wrong and why it always said he had two bags available when he did not. This auto update feature makes me feel like I cannot reserve a bag in advance and I must show up first to see if something is actually available. Kind of defeats the purpose of the entire reservation process.

Thanks for reading!

Too Good To Go Yummy in my tummy!

I saw the ads & decided to try it out. I am so glad I did! This app is so great. Here’s some of the perks, reasons why I enjoy the app & recommend it to others. ^_^

1. There are Vegetarian and Vegan filters which I use and very much appreciate.

2. It’s a great way to try new places to eat you otherwise might skip. Whether you are in a hurry or just are in the “feed me Seymour” mode.

3. It takes the time away from the “I’m so hungry but my brain is so foggy I can’t decide what to eat, what do you recommend?” conversation that I always have with the staff. They sometimes are in that frame of mind too and say idk or are grumpy. Lol

4. It’s an affordable way to explore your local restaurants. There’s plenty of places I’ve wanted to try but think I just can’t afford it or I’m not willing to at their prices.

5. The pick up times differ. Some places close in the afternoon so you can get lunch too. This is best for planning ahead.

6. You have to pick it up usually anywhere from an hour to 30 minutes closing time. Which is a great reason to take a nice stroll and save on delivery fees and tip.

7. They only give you the tray of food portion sized. Prepare to bring your own utensils and bag if you’re in a hurry or want to eat right after picking it up. Otherwise, I imagine there will be a small separate charge for that.

8. Being mindful, conscious & reducing waste all around. What’s not to love?

I hope this helps someone enjoy some new tasty endeavors. May God bless you all in Jesus name. Amen ✝️

Too Good To Go Updated Review

When I first heard of the Too Good To Go app I was so excited about the concept the creators had thought of. I began telling everyone about it because I thought it was such a sweet idea to get food at a lower price and fighting food waste. However, as I see that this app is growing and more business owners are getting involved, I have been experiencing a lot of issues. First and foremost, I have had plenty incidents where I have bought the surprise bag, headed to the location and the correct time just for the owner to tell me that either, 1. They are not working with the app or 2. They don’t have any food for today and it was an error on behalf of the app. I think this is incredibly unfair as I go out of my way to pick up these items late at night. Too Good To Go does not reimburse me for my traveling fees when I’m empty handed. Additionally, the error in communication between the app and business owners make it difficult for consumers to second think of buying again. This brings me to my second major issue, the advantage business owners are taking of this business idea. I have realized that some of these “surprise bags” are a way for some business owners to give you anything worthless as long as you pay the money. For example, I bought a surprise bag from King David in Rego Park, NY and all I received was arugula and 1 cut up tomato. I bought a surprise bag from David’s Exclusive Glatt Supermarket in Rego Park, NY for $6 and received 2 bottles of prune juice. I truly don’t believe this is worth what we are paying for. Im always so excited to try new places but now I’m so disappointed on how this app is turning out to be.

Too Good To Go LOVE the idea, but it has major flaws

The concept is amazing, and my experiences actually buying and picking up food has been great.

HOWEVER this app has some major issues, specifically around recommendations and notifications.

Not being able to choose the *typeof notifications means I have to get regular ads for restaurants if I want to get pickup notifications. I don't get why you can't opt out of being bothered with recommendations or tips.

Also, not being able to set a smaller radius means that I'm being sent recommendations for restaurants literally in the suburbs of the city I live in. 2 miles isn't far if you have a car and are outside a major city, but *withina city, 2 miles and having to walk/take transit is almost impossible. It doesn't matter if I'm being told about new restaurants, I have no way of getting there.

If there was a way to turn off recommendations outside your zip code or set a *muchsmaller mile radius, or anything else to better customize what you see, that would be amazing.

There are also some weird choices I wish I could hide or opt out of. Like, a creepy convenience store I used to live by also has an option, but they literally only sell cheese and convenience store items, so I'm not sure how there's anything there I'd want in a mystery bag, but it still constantly pops up as a suggestion. I wish I could say "no thanks!" or hide options from the list.

I signed up because my FAVORITE restaurant is on here and have loved getting things from them, but after getting too many recommendations and being bothered by alerts, I ended up uninstalling the app. Until I don't get bothered about restaurants that I literally can't get to, there isn't a point in keeping it. The money I save isn't worth the annoyance of the app right now. :/

Too Good To Go Good idea Bad execution

So currently it’s 8:45pm, 39°... I’m freezing, looking at the locked door of the restaurant that I prepaid for.
I came across this App today and immediately downloaded it. Found out there’s one last dinner box available in my nearby go to restaurant, grabbed it. Only ate a bit for dinner, waited till 8:15pm, curious about how the box actually works, left home to pick up.
The restaurant is in a Food Court, but when I got there at 8:28pm, the door was locked... ppl were cleaning inside... I checked the restaurant operation hour, it should be close at 9pm. Checked my app, it was telling me my box is ready to be picked up now.
I could see the staff (from the restaurant I ordered) were cleaning inside. They saw me tried to get in, they just gave me a “closed” hand sign. So basically I couldn’t get in, and ppl from the restaurant seemed have no idea why I was there. They were piling up the garbage, I think at that point it was safe to assume they didn’t have my dinner box for me...
Opened the App, still kept reminding my dinner box is ready to be picked up. Clicked in “Need Help?” Submitted all the info and the locked door pic, got the response of “we will get back to you within 48 hours”... how is that being helpful ... AT ALL?!
I don’t know how they r going to handle this after another 2 days , even if they will credit me back the full refund which is $4.99. I will still ask ppl not to use them. I mean it’s a fun idea to start with, and I can even understand sometimes the restaurant makes booboos. But first the restaurant staffs looked like they had no clue, so there must be something wrong with the system. Secondly there’s no customer support when u need it. The pick up time is always close to the restaurant’s closing time, so if u are expecting a late dinner and when they screw up, ready to be starved cause most other restaurants are closed too. So now I just walked out in a cold, dark winter night, for half hour, for nothing... really speechless.

Too Good To Go Great idea; doesn’t work so well in Massachusetts

I was fired up to use this app, not because I am frugal and try to save some money on food. I earn a decent income. But I was fired up about doing my part so that food does not go to waste. If you think about it food is super cheap to begin with considering all the effort that goes into growing it and then harvesting it and then bringing it to market or restaurants and to the consumer. Unfortunately in America I think around 40% or so never gets eaten. That’s horrible. Anyhow so I was psyched do use the app.Unfortunately, the restaurants here in Boston that supply the food know that I am picking up discounted food and treat me accordingly. America has much more of a class system then I experienced in Copenhagen or in Germany for example. So when I go in to pick up the food. More than once I have been treated like I’m some sort of charity case or homeless person as opposed to someone they would respect as a normal customer. The unfriendliness, the way the food is slapped into a bowl, and the manner that I get treated by participating restaurants is perhaps OK for juveniles or college students, but not for a grown adult. I think there’s some real ethnographic challenges for this type of program in the United States that has little to do with the functionality of the app but more with a social structure and belief systems of Americans. When the staff know that you are getting some sort of leftovers at a discount, they treat you that way here. Also the advertised value of the food often $14.99 is exaggerated compared to what I actually got even when compared to the full value on the menu. It was still a discount and a value but often it seems like the restaurants were trying to move discounted food rather than get rid of the rest of the food of the day. Almost every restaurant that participated in this app that I went to, I would never go back to as a full paying customer because of the way I was treated and or the quality of the food. The only exception seems to be the bakeries. To overall the app is well-meantAnd perhaps works well in certain cities, but here in Boston you kind of get treated poorly like college students if you use it.

Too Good To Go BEWARE!

So When I saw the reviews I definitely wanted to try this. And I think I understood how it works. So I decided to order with a couple of friends I was excited to find out the Thai place across the street from where I live was in the list of Restaurants to choose from.
Fast forward I got there to pick up , no problem , their the man who was working was very nice and prompt.
He went in the kitchen and packed my food immediately . Note ,I already knew it was what ever food they had from the day and I was ok with that … I was just happy it was some type of Thai food right?! Nope When I got home I opened the bag and everything was put together nice yes it was cold ok , not a problem we can fix that… now heres the problem, what I felt was shady was that I chose a Thai restaurant thinking I would get Thai food anything Thai… what We got was 3 orders of cold Chicken cutlets and waffles and 3 half turkey cheese sandwiches.. I understand the food is what ever they have from that day… but I felt banbosald if that’s how you spell that word.. you do get to choose the type of restaurant on the app for a reason , I’m assuming so you can experience the food they make… so just to make sure I decided to check the menu the restaurant doesn’t hv any chicken cutlet with waffle or sandwiches on the thier menu ‍♀️ smh. So
This is what I feel the idea is awesome but they didn’t even give me anything Thai related ..,so do they just have something aside for people who order from this app.? They have many restaurant choices so if I wanted to , maybe get something like what I got I wouldve taken the chance in ordering from a chicken place like an IHOP or a Deli since those are things they tend to serve… but it’s like ordering from a Chinese restaurant and getting a slice a pizza .

So not sure maybe that’s something that this new site can at least make sure of… if the restaurants aren’t legitimately going to have something in the type of restaurant selected it is best that they put they hv nothing then to serve that day instead of serving something that they don’t even hv in their menu ,. Like I mentioned , I knew it would be a surprise but I was hoping it was at least going to be something Thai ,something that the restaurant actually serves to their customers..

Too Good To Go Recommended for the broke. And user tips:

My ex roommate introduced this amazing app to me. As a broke college kid in NYC (yeah all my money goes to tuition), it is a huge challenge to stay away from starving if your per-meal budget is below 5 dollars. (99cent pizza is great but I really crave for some variation from time to time)

This app is particularly good with college kids who dorm. As I do not have access to a kitchen (if you live in nyc, cooking is a super valuable skill for saving money), am willing to walk around for food (i feel sad for old and broke people. Too good to go is not good enough for them.) and have multiple roommates to share the cost. (Assuming you get a bag that is more than enough for one person, which is why I am offering you my tips below)

My strategy:

1. Look for restaurants and delis. They usually offer meal or huge bag of bagels. Grocery stores/ markets usually just give you yogurts. They are great but they do not cure hunger.

2. Look for short collection timeframe and VERY perishable food: if a sushi restaurant offers a magic bag and has a collection time of half an hour between 8 and 830pm, go for it. Chances are you will find a nice meal for two or even three people.

3. Go for the MORE EXPENSIVE option when two equally good magic bags are available: the rule of Too Good To Go is that the magic bag must have a market price triple of the offered price in the App, meaning for every one additional dollar you spend, you are getting three dollars’ worth of food.

And lastly, I suggest that even if you are not broke like me, try it once anyways. It is a good yardstick for any diner you might want to frequent: if they offer nice magic bags to the broke, they prolly gonna handle your food right as well.

Last lastly, two little suggestions to the app developers:

1. actually I can bring my own bag to collect the magic bags (to the broke brothers and sisters: Target bags are the absolute best) Every time I go, there is a paper-bag. It pains me to know that my effort to save money also generates so much waste because these bags are not reusable. Please add an option in your app asking the user to indicate if they have their own bags.

2. This might be a bit extra, but it would be great if some basic nutrition value info is given on the magic bag selection page. If you are surviving on it, you need some basic balance of carbo, fat, protein and vitamin (Im not even asking for fiber anymore lol). But I also see that the categorization will be difficult, and it might be even harder to enforce this on shop owners. (They are already going the extra mile just to feed people like me!)

Too Good To Go Two months honest review in NYC

I live in midtown NYC, near Hudson Yard. In this area, there are ample options and restaurants that are in close walking distance, with more being added occasionally. Most are bakeries, some supermarkets and restaurants, with a variety in cuisine, predominately Italian or Mediterranean. There’s unfortunately not many Asianic foods (no Chinese yet, and only one sushi place so far). The app is good in helping you find new restaurants and explore around the city, especially if you’re not a picky eater and just follow the discounted food.

The restaurants that are partnered with the app, for the most part, are great; they give enough food for a full meal at a discount of their usual price. The discount varies by restaurant: some are crazy great (a supermarket I pick up at 1-2x a week usually have $16 worth of packaged food for $5, calculated from the price stickers on the food) whereas others are less enticing ($4 for a single sandwich usually priced $8, despite the profile of the restaurant on the app advertising a normal cost of $15, over-inflating their sale discount), so your experience in saving money definitely varies depending on which place you pick up at.

Most of my negative experience with the program are from inconsistencies with pickup times (a restaurant listing a 10-11 am pickup when in reality they should have done a 6-7 pm pickup, and when I arrived, they told me they didn't have any food for me even though I purchased a bag for that specific pickup time) or number of pickups that a restaurant has for a day (the sushi restaurant told me they only do one pickup a day, and that they had already given out their food, even though the app had listed 3 pickups leftover), causing me to waste time heading to the places. I don’t really know if the fault lies in the restaurants themselves not managing their times or pickups accurately, or if the app is messing up those variables, but it definitely inconveniences the buyer. But to give credit, TooGoodToGo’s support and refund process is simple, and I received money back for the two inconvenient orders (took about roughly 2 business days for them to respond back after submitting the claim).

Moving forward, it would be nice to see some other features get added to the app for accessibility and quality of life. For example, it might be nice to have a map view of restaurants that we can pick instead of picking from a list in order to see topographically where a restaurant is located. Another benefit would be having commented reviews of restaurants instead of just star reviews since those can be extremely vague; it can also help consumers to know about problematic restaurants.

EDIT 3/26
Changed my rating from 4 stars to 5. Since my review back in December, the team behind TooGoodToGo has implemented the map that I was wishing for; they definitely listen to their community, which is awesome to see. I’ll continue to support them while also supporting lots of restaurants for the near and far future.

I purchased a Too Good To Go Bag. The All-Bran Cereal had April of last year's date on it. Everything in the bag was out of date and ended up in the bin where it belongs. I feel robbed. Tried to save a bit money and ended up wasting it. I purchased this from Londis Bedlington 02/02/24.

Too Good To Go Thai tanic "too good to go" surprise bag

I received an item in my surprise bag that I could not identify. It looked like bones of some sort. We called and they said it was "spicy chicken bones' and it was not an item on their menu. I feel like they used the chicken meat for a regular menu item, and then spiced and cooked the bones as a Too Good To Go item. It was very disgusting looking! They basically used food scraps to make up this item! They are trying to make money from their food scraps!

Claimed loss: The surprise bag was $7.90. I am requesting a refund. I typically would not do this, but the fact that they made up an item, basically using food scraps, is reason enough to request a refund.

Desired outcome: Please refund 7.90

Too Good To Go Aldi Gloucester

I booked TGTG bag from my local Aldi in Gloucester it takes me 10 minutes to drive there. Pick up was 16:15 and they cancelled at 16:04. Because I was diving at the time I was unable to read the email. As I was already there I complained to the manager in store who was less than sincere about the waste of my time and fuel and insisted that TGTG allowed them to cancel so this was acceptable. Please be warned although we have to give 2 hours notice to cancel the vendor may cancel as far as I can tell moments before pickup.

Too Good To Go Too good to go

I bought 2 bags from the pound bakery for collection on 1st January only to find the store closed. I was extremely disappointed and annoyed by this as had planned my day around the pickup and also wasted my diesel travelling to the store to only to find it closed. I reported this on the app with photos but I still have no response from anybody and I've had no refund. I feel this is very bad practice and wish to complain in the highest regard that nobody has bothered to even get in touch with me to tell me what's happening. I am still waiting a response, refund and compensation. I would hoped this would be sooner rather than later as I've already been waiting long enough to hear something. I hope you can help. Thanks so much.

Claimed loss: £6.50 for the goods I did not receive, wasted fuel, wasted time and effort.

Desired outcome: A refund and compensation

Too Good To Go Rich's cider farm restaurant

Hi I ordered my first too good to go at rich's farm shop at watchfield in Somerset. I paid 4.35 for a carvery bag.

It came in 2 containers one labelled veg and one labelled meat. The veg was all lumped in together. In the meat container was 1 small slice of beef, 2 tiny pots and 1 small Yorkshire pudding.

I was very disappointed and don't think I will be ordering again.

Too Good To Go still awaiting refunds from too good to go

On 8th October 2023 we ordered a grocery bag price £1.99 from OneStop at High Street Buckden for collection prior to store closure at 8pm but when we got to the shop it had been closed since about 2pm. In fact, we have been charged £2.00 for this and it shows as still being outstanding.

The same day, 8th October 2023, we ordered a surprise bag from Greggs at The Pavement St Ives for £2.59 for collection the next day but this was cancelled by Greggs because there was no surplus food that day.

This two amounts have not been refunded to us whereas all other items ordered and subsequently cancelled have been cancelled and disappeared from our bank".

Please advise, many thanks

Pete Baulk

Too Good To Go Prepared meals purchased on September 25 2023

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my disappointment with a purchase of Prepared Meals at Longo’s. Upon receiving the meals, I noticed the meals are all six salads, and all were only half full, and there were no sides, pastas, or cooked food as typically expected. The lack of variety and incomplete portions were quite unexpected and left me feeling as I didn’t receive the full value for my purchase.

For this reason, I kindly request a full refund for this purchase to rectify the situation. I also attached few pictures to show the salads I received and a copy of the invoice I was charged for.

Thanks

Desired outcome: Please refund

Too Good To Go too good to go bag

Purchased a too good to go bag yesterday. Went to pick it up at 7pm as instructed from station road petrol station near skipton north yorkshire. The guy in there said it had been cancelled and to check my email.

I checked my phone and no emails. Got home, checked online and NO email saying it had been cancelled. I drove 8 miles to get it and not there. No refund, as i doubt the company would know to send one.

This happened a few years ago regularily. Never got refund, and no emails saying otherwise.

What is going on?

Is the garage worker taking them and saying cancelled, and if not, then where is my verification letting me know of this?

Desired outcome: A resolution to this re-occuring problem

Too Good To Go My order has been cancelled a few times recently

Two of Stores have cancelled my orders recently (one stores cancelled twice). It is a good thing that no food ended up in the trash, however it's really wasting our time! I had once been the store and told my order has been cancelled, other times I've scheduled time to pickup on the day. When they've run out of surplus food for the day, why they accept the order in ahead?

Desired outcome: guaranty order

Too Good To Go Restaurant

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding a recent experience with the Too Good To Go service. I had placed an order using a voucher that is soon to expire, but unfortunately, the restaurant canceled my order, leaving me unable to utilize the voucher within its validity period. As a result, I kindly request compensation in the form of a replacement voucher.

Too Good To Go I feel scammed

There’s a restaurant called “My mamas Vegan”

they are on this app I reserved my food, paid upfront showed up to Pick up said food and the store was completely shut down.
As in won’t be open for business for the next few weeks, the store was even operable it’s like they signed up opened an account specifically to take ppls money. I contacted the app to receive my refund and haven’t heard back.
My advice is to CALL the store first and confirm that this is an actual thing and pay while your in the store talking to someone or get burned like me

Too Good To Go More transparency!

Don’t force people to download the app before they find out what the deal is, be up front about it from the beginning! They are “surprise” bags of food for a discount. I highly doubt these are cutting down on any food waste. How do they know that restaurants aren’t just buying the cheapest ingredients possible to throw in there and make more money, pretending like it’s this discounted deal? Seems like yet another brand getting heaps of attention for their “feel good” concept when no one stops to think about the reality of what’s actually happening.

Too Good To Go More misses than hits and no customer service

I love the idea in theory but my experience usually ends in frustration. With the exception of one generous local business, the value of the bags rarely seems to equal the stated value (and if course, the selection may not suit your taste on top of that). Also, be aware that orders placed within 2 hours of the pick up window cannot be cancelled, even if the error is caught immediately. At this point, I’m sure I’ve spent more through this app than the value I’ve received. Too good to go is too disappointing to provide an actual solution to our food waste problem.

Too Good To Go First try - restaurant closed

First time using this app - got to the restaurant right on time and it was closed. Nice idea but really not worth the hassle since it sounds from other reviews like this team is not able to keep track of which restaurants are actually open and which ones aren’t.

Update - comment below said to contact them through the app and they would address the issue ‘right away.’ I did exactly this while standing in front of the store. It took them four days (from Saturday night to Wednesday) to reply to me and provide a refund. Guess we have different definitions of ‘right away’.
