The Room Place - damage done by delivery men

The room place delivery men damaged the top part of my backway hall wall while delivering mattress set. The store refused to repair damage or pay for damage. The department that handles it refuses to call me or write me regarding repair or payment for damages done by their delivery men. Management is very arrogant and unconcern.

I have worked as a contactor with the Roomplace delivering. I have seen endless carelessness coming from the whole entire business .I hate to see how the staff robs customers with a smile and say nothing personal just business. Coming from a family owned business they treat is like corporate America. They need to be shown on media how much of a disgrace they really are. When the fire happened they all got a raise like political parties America should boycott them and see how we don't need them because they need us

We just bought $2500 in furniture in Februara and already have a ruined couch. We bought a lighter colored furniture becasue the ghetto a$$ sales associate SWORE by the 5 year warrany program. We got the warranty on all 4 pieces and had a claim within the first month. When calling the warranty company they hadn't even received any of our information. In the end after going back and forth with the warranty service and the room place they sent us small tubes of cleaner and told us to clean it ourselves. We just had another claim in and it took them a whole month for them to decide to send a tech to clean the couch. The tech would not show up when he said on 3 separate occasions. We got tired of the bs and asked for our money back only to find out that information for one of our chairs was never sent to the warranty company! I have had the room place fax it, but it is not legible. I mailed it in 2 weeks ago and of course they still havent received it. The room place has not been any help through any of this process. Everytime I call they pass the buck to some other unhelpful manager or customer service rep. Today I called and asked if they could email the invoice so I could get the rest of my money and they said they dont have a way to do that! They tell me they are sorry and there's nothing they can do for me it's out of their hands. WTF. My 8 yr old child could do it for them. So here we are with a 4 month old ruined couch that we will probably have to get covers made for. I will NEVER purchase anything from the room place again. I feel I have been ripped off. Future buyers beware! A family member also had their wall with a hole knocked in it by the delivery men that they would not fix. I hate the room place. I shoudl have went to Sofa Select and spent the extra money.

RIPPING OFF SENIOR CITIZENS!
Back in July of 2009 my mother purchased a sofa & ottoman. The cost was over $1000.00 with the warranty & stain resistance. The warranty was for 5 years. After a couple months, we noticed it was really hard to get off the sofa. We let it go for a few more months because my mom was in & out of the hospital. When we called for a repair man & he came out he had to staple the seams of the couch & said the springs were broke in the cushions. They ordered new ones & then called a couple weeks later to say the cushion place went out of business. They asked if she would accept $125.00 She said yes asuming it was for her inconvenence. When I called & talked to Gloria in customer service Chicago branch she was extremely rude. She told me I could not tape the conversation however they tape it & would not help me at all or allow my mom to get different funiture. A few months later, we noticed rips along the back seam. I called them back, talked to Gloria AGAIN and again she was very rude. She told me that when my 90 year old mom cashed the check, the warranty was now void. I explained my mom was on heavy pain killers when she accepted the $125.00 and was not told by accepting the money her warranty was void. She also said that she was not aware the my mom was on pain medicine. That is not how we open a conversation & was NOT aware she was being scammed by the Room Place. I asked to talk with someone higher up, a manager or supervisior and she told me a supervisior would call me back but never did. I have contacted lawyers & they all say she has a very good case but she is still very weak & unable to appear in court. I can not understand how & why the BBB has not shut this place down...BUYERS BEWARE

My husband and I just purchase a reclining sofa and love seat from the Room Place, Mishawaka, IN and spent approx $2500.
When the furniture was delivered it was damaged, but we did not see it until later.
Since it is just the two of us, we never sat in the Sofa, only the love seat.

Approx two weeks later we tried the sofa and found that there was leather scrapes and loose threads! We called the customer service number and explained what was going on, so they sent out a 3rd party person by the name of Eric. When he arrived he brought in a box of markers, and asked for a pair of scissors. He proceded to color the scratches and cut off the threads.

When I called back the customer service number to let them know that I felt that this was unacceptable, their attitude was TOO BAD! We covered up the problem, so now it is closed.

The tech also told us that they would just replace the furniture, send it back and sell it as new? I can't imagine?

I just don't understand how a company can get away with all of this... what POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE... and they didn't even give me a jar of vasoline!

I definitely will be glad to give them free advertisement about how they treat their customers. If I worked at a place that treated their customers like that I would not want anyone to know where I worked.

I can understand all of the complaints that were before mine and rightfully so.
In my opinion, The Room Place Furniture rates of one of the lowest companies on my list and will never do business there EVER!

Oh yeah, buy the way... I spoke to the manager, and he offered me to come in and pick up a new set of furniture, which had to be at lease the same amount or more, but, I will have to pay for redelivery, even though it was delivered damaged furniture to begin with, I guess it's my obligation to pay their drivers for the wrong that they did... Sorry, not happening. I will continue to keep the pieces of damaged furniture, but learned a valuable lesson. DO NOT BUY FROM THE ROOM PLACE IF YOU DO NOT WANT DAMAGED FURNITURE! We had recently purchased 4, 000.00 worth of furnature from the ROOMPLACE. Everything looks great and we are very happy with the products. My husband was getting ready for the COLTS game today and realized his authentic jersey was nowhere to be found. We had a reliable family member with the delivery staff at all times; however, at some point his jersey was taken from where it was hanging to dry. WE STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THE JERSEY WAS STOLEN FROM OUR HOME DAYS PRIOR DURING THE DELIVERY. The only individuals in our home this week was our pets, toddlers (whom couldn't reach where it was drying), parents, us, and three delivery men. Our home is protected by a security system while we are away...so that is ruled out. We didn't want to come to this conclusion and searched our organized home for an hour. As soon as ROOMPLACE opens today, I plan to talk with our sales manager about the integrity of one or more of their employees. We can buy another jersey, their integrity cannot!

Very POOR coustomer service! Sales people very pushy, cut-throat, stealing sales from other workers. Managers unwilling to work deals out with you POOR customer service as well. Worthless, cheap furniture- sales people uneducated on everything except the STUPID stain repelant that is a complete rip-off for the price. You have to go through a different companey to deal with your problems with stains or damage and I guarantee after a 3 step process they will come up with some excuss to not cover your problem. Sales people in store VERY VERY pushy about getting product. Not happy if you don't purchase it. I also wanted to pick my own furniture up bc they were going to charge me $109$$ to have it delivered less that 3 miles away! They were not happy I wanted to pick it up and made sure I knew that! Now, finally my most important problem- I purchased the sectional that was available for immediate delivery however didnt need it delivered for 2 weeks. They called me a wk later and told me they sold all of the sectionals in the warehouse and it wouldn't be available for another 2 weeks after the date I needed it! They should have had mine on HOLD not sold it! After talking to a WORTHLESS, poor customer service individual I got nowhere! So, now I have to sit on lawnchairs until my couch comes in! Everytime I call them I have to sit on hold. Wouldnt recommend this cheapass, loser sales people to anyone! Its like a Walmart for furniture!

I waited 5 weeks for an $88 mirror. When I tried to buy the first time, they tried to give me the floor model with no discount. They didnt even have the box it came in. They made me feel like I was a hillbilly. When I insisted that they send a new one, they made me wait 5 weeks. I called 3 times times. The first time they said wait longer, the second the same, the third...the manager said to go the warehouse. Let's vote. How many of you think I will skip the Room Place and go to Value City next time?

I totally agree. Their product is poor quality and they do not stand behind it. And their customer service does not seem to care that I will no longer be a customer with them.

I recently went throught the same thing with them. My sectional is coming apart and they are telling me that it is not covered under warranty after three months. Their customer service was extremly rude and does not seem to care that I will no longer be a customer.
