RE: Dining 7/31/19
Dear Cheesecake Factory,
I am writing in regards to my visit to your restaurant yesterday afternoon. I visit your restaurant almost every time
I am in the Seattle area. Yesterday I was traveling with a work colleague and her two kids. I wanted to treat to a cocktail
but was unable to find any prices on the menu. We had been traveling and my funds were low as my payday was just around the corner.
I felt embarrassed to ask about prices with my colleague so just went ahead and ordered a Mai Tai and a Pineapple Mojito. We had hoped to
enjoy our drinks while we chatted as our meals were prepared. Although the restaurant was not crowded the drinks took 14 minutes to make
it to our table. We had to ask another server to check on the drinks after waiting so long. Additionally, the drinks were not in any way exceptional
and our glasses were not very well sized. After receiving our drinks we then waited quite a long time before our meals were delivered. All of our
meals we very good. Our cheese cake was delicious. One of the greatest concerns that has prompted me to sit down and write to you is the value
received in ordering a cocktail from your establishment. It was not until almost two hours after ordering cocktails that I became aware of the prices
that the Cheesecake Factory has established for these beverages. My Mai Tai was $13.50 and my friend's Pineapple Mojito was $13.95. My main course,
the California Cheesesteak was $14.95. This means that your restaurant is almost charging the same price for a cocktail as an entire entree. I find
this practice to represent a deficiency in value to the extent that I felt upset upon reviewing my bill. It makes very little sense to me and has me currently
thinking that I do not wish to ever pay for a drink in your restaurant. Furthermore, if you are going to charge such an exorbitant price for a cocktail it should
be served efficiently, it should taste amazing and be very well sized. This was not the case for our experience yesterday afternoon. It should also be noted
that upon presentation of our bill it was suggested that we should offer a gratuity in the range of $14.97 - $21.96. At this time I am requesting a response
to my dissatisfaction with this our experience. I have not completed the survey at this time.
They will not respond.
