We had to replace our Outback's windshield at the end of September 2019. Our local Suburu dealer replaced it. The next time it rained, we noticed that the windshield had a film on it with a bubble pattern when it became wet. We took the car back to our local dealer to show them the film. They recommended that our wipers were the problem. We payed to replace the windshield wipers, but this did not fix the film. Our local Suburu dealer was not very helpful with this problem at all.

In November of 2019, we were driving around on a beautiful, warm fall day. Our windshield was fine, we went into a store and when we came out it had a large crack. There is no origin to the crack. It appears to be from below the weather stripping. We took it to the dealer and they were dismissive to us and said it was a rock chip when there clearly is none. We will be happy to send you photos to show you that there is not a chip.

Dennis, the service manager at our dealership, said that there are no complaints or recalls on Suburu windshields he is aware of. A short internet search reveals a significant number of complaints. Our concern is that you are not acknowledging this issue or you do not know your customers as well as you claim that you do. We found countless complaints of the exact same issue we are currently experiencing over a myriad of years and models.

We have enjoyed our Suburu. Our only problem has been with this windshield and we can not afford to continue to replace it when we believe the design is defective. We would appreciate hearing from you about this issue.
