Steve Madden review: Upset wife

My husband received a pair of shoes from his brother before he passed away. Today he wore the shoes, and whole sole came off both shoes. The shoes are only three or four months old. Am i wrong to have expected them to have lasted longer than this? I was told by customer service that this is my problem and not theirs because i didn't have an order number. Won't be shopping with Steve Madden going forward.
