Found out through another HVAC company that the *** new install was so poor that the drain line was clogged up with algae and caused damage inside my house. Horrible

We have been using Stephen K Denny for many years to keep our AC and Heating system running well when we need it most. When our older unit ran its course, they gave a fair price and did an outstanding installation job.

2018 we had our a/c installed by Stephen K Denny. The installation was professionally completed. Until now, 10/2022 we have had no problems. After scheduling a service/maintenance appointment we were pleased with our problem solved by Stephen K Denny. He solved our problem and patiently explained his solution and recommendations for continued working a/c.

I had a new A/C installed yesterday and the guys were there on time and everything went smoothly. They did a great job installing the unit, it was a clean and professional install. From Stephen K. Stephen K. Denny Had what it turned out to be is a leak in my AC refrigerant line

Had what it turned out to be is a leak in my AC refrigerant line. They refilled the gas at no charge because of my service contract. The refill did not last long and a leak in the line was the loss reason. Since the refrigerant line was buried under my cement floor identifying the exact spot and fixing it was not practical. The following day a crew came and installed a new refrigerant line through my attic and got my AC working. The work had to be done on a hot day in a sweltering hot attic but it was done quickly. I can depend on SK Denny to keep me cool.

Stephen K. Denny I have been dealing with Stephen K

I have been dealing with Stephen K. Denny, Inc. for over 10 years and I recently purchased a new AC system. They are the BEST AC Company in my area. They are Professional, Knowledgeable and Pleasant to deal with beginning with the office personnel to the maintenance people to the installers. The two installers: John and Mark were extremely professional, extremely knowledgeable and informative and a total pleasure to deal with. Thank you John and Mark for making my new AC install a total pleasure. God Bless you both and all of you at Stephen K. Denny, Inc. If you have an AC issue, need a new system, whatever the matter is -- Hire them, you won't be disappointed.

Stephen K. Denny Non working AC unit which they had installed as new in Oct 2019

Non working AC unit which they had installed as new in Oct 2019. No remedy to replace causing multiple days of no AC for family and pets. I called SKD on Monday July 20th for a non working AC unit which they had installed as new in Oct 2019. The subsequent repairs, parts sourcing, and installation all lead me to believe the process was manipulated to take much longer than reasonable expected or normal. After 3 days, the Service Manager informed me Covid was the issue when that had never been mentioned before and is hard to quantify. Multiple calls and notes have not lead anywhere. I am without AC on a warranty unit 8 months old. I had another certified tech look at issue and they identified install wiring problems which likely led to the failure in the 1st place. It could be intentional actions to acquire additional warranty work.

Replace all *(asterisks) with appropriate text in review about Stephen K. Denny:
installation problems, failure to return calls, failure to repair equipment, excess charges. In the brief time that I've had a Lennox air conditioner, sold and installed by Stephen K. Denny, I have had more trouble with that unit and their service than I have with all other air conditioners and AC contractors in total over the course of decades. About the time that my ~22 year old Heil unit's condenser fan motor started to act up, I saw a sale on Lennox units installed by Stephen K. Denny. It seemed like a timely offer and I made the purchase. It's a decision that has led to one problem after another from the moment that installation began. I am truly amazed at the extent of the problems that I've had with this company. First, the salesman who did the measurements specified a 20 inch air handler for a closet with an 18 inch opening. (I have yet to fully repair the problems that this caused) Then there was the problem of the installer attempting to replace my new wifi thermostat with the cheap one that Stephen K. Denny "gives" with new units. Fortunately, I caught this and he promptly reinstalled my thermostat. The aggravation from day one was such that I'd have been happy to never deal with this company again - and I didn't expect that I'd need to. Unfortunately, the system lost refrigerant and required a service call. I was told that the breakers were wrong and they were replaced. The unit was also low on refrigerant so the technician refilled it but didn't have a leak test unit on the truck. (Really, an AC service truck without the equipment to find refrigerant leaks?) I wrote Stephen K. Denny letting them know of my very unsatisfactory experience to date and got a prompt message back apologizing for the problems and a skilled senior level service technician was sent out. He removed one component that can cause problems and added another to ensure that the compressor doesn't "hard start". He was unable to locate the leak so he refilled the system and advised me that the office would call me to set up further diagnostics. They didn't and the unit again stopped cooling after having lost refrigerant. Stephen K. Denny sent out a different senior level technician who initiated an isolated leak test procedure. He was to come back the next morning to complete the test. Instead, a different technician with different equipment came out. Though I now learn that Lennox units have known condenser coil leak problems. This technician declared that the leak was in the only part of my system not covered by warranty. I was told it would cost me $1800 to replace approximately 25 feet of copper line set. This seemed excessive for what turned out to be a very simple, straightforward job with minimal materials costs. We agreed that I would purchase and run the line set and Stephen K. Denny "only" charged me $350 for the leak test and another $350 to hook up the new lines after I purchased and ran them myself. It was a very easy job and I was shocked at the labor costs that they wanted to charge. Still had this resolved problem, I'd have considered this a reasonably fair, though still pricey solution. While running the new copper, I found yet another problem from the original installation. A 4 inch hole going into the attic was pulling unconditioned attic air into the air handler causing a dramatic loss in efficiency and is yet another problem remaining from the original install by this company. While I've been told that those installers no longer work for the company, Stephen K. Denny has done nothing to make these problems right. I should not be finding and dealing with these problems YEARS later! Unfortunately, it seems the coil line set did not need to be replaced as my air conditioner again stopped cooling after the refrigerant again leaked out into the atmosphere. I called Stephen K. Denny and asked to speak with the lady who had been helping me all along. Unfortunately she no longer works there. I advised the receptionist that I was on the verge of filing a ComplaintsBoard.com complaint because of the ongoing problems, the apparent unneeded "repair" and the costs that I've endured.
