I started a request of a prior authorization fax March 23rd. It’s a lengthy paper prior authorization. My diabetes numbers were out of control and so many meds make me nauseated or give me diarrhea. After two months of me constantly calling insurance the NFDL clinic and the pharmacy it was denied. Reason? They never received requested information from my provider. I’m beyond frustrated and sad. This was avoidable. Providers complain about non compliance of diabetics all of the time. I followed a strict low carb diet and walked 1-3 times daily for three years. I was willing to do whatever it takes. Now? I’m considered annoying because I pushed and called for a medication that actually helped me to maintain normal blood sugars. My insurance company contact said “I’ve never said this before, but you should look for a new provider and a new pharmacy”
Recommendation: Do your research a provider is only as good as their surrounding cast.
