Every time, I mean Every time, over the past several years that I have used SSM (which was Saint Anthony's hospital where I was born at) I have always self out of pocket "paid in full" for all of my services, when I enter facility, or when I leave the Doctors office. But there is always an additional bill sent wanting more money above what is quoted prior to the visit. There is no insurance used, I only self pay. These visits have only been required, to renew my elective scripts, and for no other reason. And they are not cheap for 10 minutes of a doctors conversation $ 137. to $ 250.
The only good thing about SSM, is that I have had the same "American born Doctor", which I like, or I would changed to a difference health care service a long ago.
Recommendation: RUN AWAY Quickly
They’re taking advantage through unexpected bills simply becasue you are paying yourself. Ask for an itemized bill every time and refuse to pay anything above what was agreed. If this happens again, let them know that you will report them for false billing. Look for a direct-pay clinic that appreciates transparency — SSM clearly doesn’t.
