Good day,  I visited the Parkhurst Sorbet this past Saturday (4 January 2020). I didn't have an appointment booked but managed to go in at a time where there was space available for me (+/-14:00). I had an underarm wax done (costing R130). Although the staff were very friendly, I am unfortunately dissatisfied with the quality of treatment/outcome produced. The following points sum up my experience:
·      I was shocked to see that no pre-wax treatment was applied before waxing - not even a simple wipe to clean the skin, considering that it was the middle of a hot day(hence, naturally, sweating occurs), and I had applied underarm deodorant in the morning. I have been waxing my underarms for years. This simple step of cleaning the skin before a treatment has always been an obvious step.
·      The hot wax was apparently "too hot" and therefore the lady doing the treatment (unfortunately I did not catch her name) had put in a new block of wax in the pot, so as to 'cool it down'. A few minutes later, I would assume she had realised that this was going to take too long to melt, and therefore asked if I would be okay with rather using strip wax on my underarms. I was very hesitant at first, but I told her that she could use her professional judgement on what to do - so long as my skin doesn't damage, and the hair doesn't break. She reassured me that this wouldn't happen and proceeded to use the strip wax.
·      After waxing, she proceeded to tweeze - a lot. Under both my arms. Tweezing one or two hairs is normal during any wax treatment that I've had. But this was slightly suspect.
·      There were a few knocks on the door during the time that I was having this waxing/tweezing done. Although she apologized for the interruptions, I felt it was very unprofessional for this to happen. Opening and closing the door and unplugging and handing over the strip wax cartridges to other beauty therapists while in the middle of a session? I've never had this happen before.
·      Lastly -absolutely no post-wax treatment/cream/gel was applied either! Simply a smudge of baby powder. Perhaps to mask any of the un-tweezed hairs? I might add that I was wearing a black t-shirt and subsequently had to walk around for the rest of the day with powdered-white armpit marks on my shirt! Although the lady at the teller did not ask me the usual "are you satisfied with your treatment?", I paid with a heavy heart and carried on with my day. Once I had arrived home, I took a closer look at my armpits - and I was completely unimpressed! Majority of the hairs had been broken, and still very present as short stubs.

I am very dissatisfied with this overall experience at Parkhurst Sorbet.
