I purchased a Sony HT-S40R soundbar approximately 13 months ago. Recently, the unit has completely stopped functioning. The display is not working, and the system does not power on at all. There has been no physical damage, mishandling, or abnormal usage. The product was used carefully under normal home conditions.
For a premium product from a reputed brand like Sony, such a failure just after the warranty period is highly disappointing. A sound system of this price and category is expected to function reliably for several years. This appears to be a component or manufacturing-related issue rather than user error.
I request a proper inspection of the unit and a fair resolution, including goodwill support for repair or replacement. I hope the company will address this issue responsibly and maintain customer trust
