A week ago I decided to exchange my BTC coins for XMR coins. First I read the rules for creating an exchange. Then I checked the exchange rate and created an exchange. I checked the correctness of my XMR address several times to receive coins, and using a QR code, I sent BTC from my wallet to the address indicated on the exchange page. Since the rules said that the exchange takes from 5 to 60 minutes, I decided that two hours would definitely be enough. But, the status of my exchange remained "Waiting".

I checked again the address to which I sent the coins in the wallet with the address on the exchange page - they matched. But, 2 hours have passed and my exchange was still in the "Waiting" status. Suspecting that I ran into scammers (there are a lot of these unfortunate guys nowadays), I went to a live chat.

Within a couple of minutes, they explained to me that they had not yet received the coins to the address to start the exchange. I was indignant!

After all, I sent the coins, and could provide them with a screenshot of the sending. But, thanks to the employee of the support team for drawing my attention to the transaction - it is still confirmed.

I made a mistake when setting the network fee, and my transaction hung in what seemed to me an eternal wait. In order not to lose contacts, I provided my email and asked to let me know when there would be any news.

Three days later, I received a letter in which I was informed that the coins had reached the desired address, and my exchange could continue at the current rate or I can choose a refund of my funds.

Since I replied a day later, we agreed on the course again, and my exchange was finally completed. I am happy that I did not lose my money, and I am grateful that I was contacted by mail.

After a while, exchanges started trading NANO again in mid-April, but SimpleSwap still cited the NANO coin's "maintenance" as the reason for the delay. Despite the ongoing transaction for months, I did not receive the THETA token's equivalent value for my NANO by May. I was relying on this transaction, and the increase in NANO's value had allowed me more THETA than originally intended.

SimpleSwap had possession of my NANO, which could be easily tracked through the NANO explorer; however, I did not receive any THETA. I requested a refund instead, but they kept giving me the same excuse, "NANO is on maintenance." This situation persisted for almost three months, and I was out for more than $2200.

However, SimpleSwap recently completed the swap, and interestingly, they retrieved a swap that I thought was lost. I had mistakenly sent USDC to a USDT address when the NANO attack occurred, assuming I had lost my tokens. I was thrilled to recover my lost tokens and receive the THETA.

Although the time taken for the entire exchange process may vary, it is normally assumed that the exchange process should not take more than 10 minutes. Unfortunately for me, a sharp spike in TFuel's price at 7:10 am led me to receive 50,000 TFuels lesser than expected. The total time taken for this exchange was 108 minutes from the time of Theta receipt.

Upon approaching SimpleSwap for a resolution, I was informed that they were not liable for any technical faults caused by third parties or themselves, as per their service terms. They returned 3050 TFuels (exchange fees), which I found unfair, leaving me feeling robbed and disappointed by their lack of responsibility.

My recent experience with SimpleSwap has been frustrating and disappointing.

They cancelled a swap I made yesterday morning due to "the prices getting worse." This is fine, and I requested a refund.

The problem is that it is taking near 20 hours + to receive my refund, even after providing my address for the refund. In this time, my coins are held hostage - and this cost me $190 due to the price shifts (that only happened about 12 hours after I requested my refund - so this was due to the delay on SimpleSwap's part).

I have emailed multiple times and have asked for an estimated time that I'll receive my refund. I have not received any information on time.

To add insult to this, this delay and holding of my coins is costing me over $190 as the price has moved since I requested my refund.

I am very frustrated with this, and I don't think any reputable business would hold thousands of your money after you have asked for a refund when they were the ones who cancelled your transaction -- PLUS costing you money by holding your investments so you cannot sell at the price you wanted.

Please refund my coins ASAP.
