Silver City Restoration Towards the end of February 2022, I noticed water damage on my kitchen ceiling

Towards the end of February 2022, I noticed water damage on my kitchen ceiling. It's right under my master bathroom. The water line connected to the toilet was leaking at the fixture, causing a lot of damage inside the wall. My insurance agent recommended Silver City after I had a terrible experience with another company (I wrote a different review for them). I'm really grateful that my experience with *** and Silver City was completely different! *** was really helpful and patient. He took the time to answer all my questions and assured me that the work would be done on specific dates and times after signing the contract. It's rare to find good customer service and quality work these days, but I'm happy to say that Silver City delivered both. Great job!

Silver City Restoration In April , I had a plumbing problem that messed up most of the flooring in my house

In April , I had a plumbing problem that messed up most of the flooring in my house. My insurance company sent me to Silver City for repairs/restoration. I don't have much to complain about the first service, 'cept for the usual annoying delays and no-shows that made me stay in a hotel for 2 months. But, in less than a year, the carpet in the main bedroom started to buckle. I called right away and asked for someone to come fix it 'cause they said I had a whole year to report any problems. I called 3 times, left 3 different messages, and they said someone would get in touch with me. NADA! I even called the contractor (who seemed surprised to hear from me - maybe he forgot he gave me his business card) and got the same response. Still, nothing. I'm so mad that they haven't done anything to fix what they messed up in the first place. Don't use this company!

Silver City Restoration I got a few estimates for my roof after a storm in January

I got a few estimates for my roof after a storm in January . Some guy named Jared Pierce came to my place and gave me 2 estimates - one for my patio and one for a whole roof installation. Joe Kallenberg, an adjuster from American Family Insurance, recommended this company to me. I went with Silver City because my insurance company referred them. Jared Pierce came back a second time to check out some roof damage near my front door, which he missed the first time he did the estimate. He then said he'd help me with my home insurance deductible by giving me a second estimate. Well, the second estimate ended up being about $1,000.00 higher than the first one. I never signed anything with Silver City. Today, on March 6, I got a kinda harassing letter saying they're gonna put a lien on my property because I supposedly contracted with them. But I never signed anything. Some guy named Jim Fox, or maybe it was Jim Cox, called me twice telling me to clear my driveway so they can start the work. This guy called me twice, saying the job is a go. It's just plain harassment. Now I might end up with a lien on my house.

Silver City Restoration On November 22, I went upstairs in the afternoon and found wet carpet in the master bedroom

On November 22, I went upstairs in the afternoon and found wet carpet in the master bedroom. The toilet's feed line had failed, causing water to pour into the master bath area and flow into the master bedroom and upstairs hallway. I quickly turned off the water, but the master bedroom was already over an inch deep in water. I called USAA insurance to report the issue, and they said they would contact a water mitigation company. They assured me that we would hear from them within an hour. After three hours, Silver City Restoration's water mitigation team arrived. They removed the saturated carpet and pad, and vacuumed the water on the subfloor. However, they did not vacuum the water in the carpet. Instead, they placed the wet carpet back on the subfloor and left blowers and a dehumidifier on top of it overnight. They explained that this was the new approved drying method, but it took six days for the carpet to dry. Unfortunately, the wet carpet had absorbed dirt and stains from the subfloor, rendering it unusable.

The next day, when I questioned their actions, their attitude seemed to be that the insurance company would cover the costs, so there was no need to worry. Additionally, the water had also damaged the garage ceiling beneath the bedroom. Thankfully, I managed to move the cars out before the ceiling collapsed. Even with everything open, it took four days to dry out the garage. It seemed to me that Silver City Restoration did not take their job seriously and only did the bare minimum. I asked if there was a project manager assigned, and they provided a name. However, when I spoke to him, he didn't seem interested in discussing my concerns and never contacted me again.

Silver City Restoration was also responsible for the repairs. The estimator seemed more dedicated to his job, but he rejected our restoration plan. We had suggested doing the work in three stages to allow us time to put each room back together before they installed the carpeting. However, he wasn't interested in that approach. Instead, he wanted to move everything downstairs, store it for a month, and then bring it back upstairs. This method posed a high risk of damage and theft to our belongings. We would have also needed to find alternative accommodation during the process. At that point, I contacted the insurance company and expressed my dissatisfaction with this plan. We ultimately decided to take the money and handle the subcontracting ourselves. This allowed us to complete all the work without leaving our home.

In conclusion, I would strongly advise against doing business with Silver City Restoration. They did not meet our expectations, and I believe others should avoid them if possible.

Silver City Restoration I used Silver City Restoration last year, per my insurance company recommendation, following a flood that destroyed the majority of the flooring

I used Silver City Restoration last year, per my insurance company recommendation, following a flood that destroyed the majority of the flooring in my house. A couple of months ago, I noticed the carpet in my master bedroom buckling in several places creating a trip hazard. I have called several times and the representatives have all taken down my information and politely said someone would contact me to set up a time to come look at the carpet. I have yet to receive a single call back. I even called the project manager (***) who had been assigned to my case as I still had his number in my phone. He seemed caught off guard when I called but told me that someone would call me back within a couple of HOURS. Again, no response. I truly believe the carpet work was done poorly and that this should be repaired properly at no cost to me. My previous residence was completely carpeted and, in the 17 years I lived there, I had no issues. Note: I already emailed them through ComplaintsBoard.com, no response.
