I bought furniture in June and they said it would arrive in 4-6 weeks, but because of Covid, it's now almost January and I still don't have my couch. Customer service doesn't seem to care at all. I had issues with warranty service for appliances I bought from Sherman's before, but I still decided to support local business and buy furniture from them. Big mistake. It seems like Sherman's can't find reliable suppliers. Since then, I've bought 2 major appliances and 3 furniture items from other places, and I got them all within weeks. My friends also bought furniture elsewhere and got it on time. Only Sherman's has these terrible delays, and customer service doesn't give a damn. I will never, ever buy from Sherman's again. Their customer service is absolutely awful!

Sherman's I bought a new refrigerator from Sherman's in late 2017

I bought a new refrigerator from Sherman's in late 2017. Once we got it in, we've had nothing but troubles with the ice maker. They've come and put in at least 8 or 9 icemakers, and they usually only last a few months. We even got an extended warranty just for this reason. They came in at the end of March and replaced it again right before the warranty expired. The ice maker didn't make it 2 weeks. They came back and replaced it again, charging me for the ice maker they had just replaced. They say it's a different part of the ice maker, but it's not. It's been a lemon since we got it, and they won't stand behind it even though they haven't fixed it. I called management and told them I shouldn't have to pay for the repair they didn't fix. They told me it's out of warranty now. I would avoid buying any appliances from Sherman's.

Sherman's I like Sherman's slogan about getting your order "To-mah-row!

I like Sherman's slogan about getting your order "To-mah-row!" What a load of nonsense! We bought a washer, dryer, 2 pedestals, and warranty for both, along with a propane conversion kit that they wouldn't sell us without installing it themselves. The washer was supposed to arrive last Friday, but we didn't receive any phone calls or updates on Friday or Saturday. We had to call them ourselves to find out that our washer didn't make it on the truck. They assured us it would be delivered the following Friday. The same thing happened two days ago. So, we decided to purchase the washer, both pedestals, and a 5-year warranty from Nebraska Furniture Mart instead. We can pick it up in Des Moines for a lower price. Today, our dryer arrived, but the front was all scratched up. Nobody seemed to care, so we told them to take it back and give us a refund. However, they refused to refund the cost of the propane conversion kit or give it to us. We paid for it, they're taking it back, but they won't give it to us and they're keeping the $100 we paid for it. Just a heads up for anyone considering buying an appliance from Sherman's.

My advice for the day is: don't shop at Sherman's for appliances. They don't stand by their mistakes. I bought two appliances for $5,204 over 40 days ago. Now, since their installers messed up our fridge installation twice and water ran for a total of 7 days, it ruined our kitchen, Taylor's bedroom, and Josh's office. It took them 25 days to send their insurance adjuster out. The kicker is, their insurance wants us to pay over $10,000 to fix the damages caused by their employees. Sorry, but I didn't want to remodel my home, nor should I have to pay to get it back in working order. Why should I report this to my homeowners insurance when I already paid for installation and warranty? These people take advantage of you not being able to wait for your money, so you settle for much less than what it actually costs to fix things properly. Shame on you, Sherman's, for taking hard-earned money from a teacher and healthcare worker and destroying their home, only to hear "I'm sorry" and "it was an accident." But it was my fault for trusting you to keep your word.

Sherman's I wouldn't recommend their repair department at all

I wouldn't recommend their repair department at all. Same goes for buying appliances. If you need a warranty repair, it might be free, but you'll have to see them every 30-40 days. I started getting my Samsung refrigerator fixed in May. It's now September 2nd and my fridge is still making noise and not cooling below 50 degrees. This caused the ice machine to frost over and barely work. I've spent $750 over the past few months trying to get my fridge working again. I didn't realize the temperature wasn't safe until after their 30-day policy (which was actually 42 days this time). So they wanted to charge me an extra $99 service fee to come out again. Every time someone came, it was a new person, about 3-4 different service reps. The last guy criticized the previous guy for doing a terrible job and wasting our money. The manager I spoke to didn't show any remorse. They just mentioned their 30-day policy and reminded me that they had already broken it once before when I needed a repair after 39 days. Honestly, I get that some of the $750 is for parts, but how about refunding the service fees since your staff clearly can't handle the repairs they charged me for? I would have even accepted a discount on a new fridge and kept quiet. In the past, my family and friends liked supporting Sherman's because it's a local company. But now we'll be shopping at Lowe's or Best Buy instead of "shopping local". Sadly, every time someone mentions home appliances, I'll share my bad experience with Sherman's.

I called Sherman's for in home appliance fixin'. They made me pay $125 upfront as a service fee, sayin' it would go towards the repair cost. But turns out, they couldn't fix it right then and there 'cause they had to order some parts. So, we had to think about whether we should buy a new appliance or go ahead with the repair. When we finally decided on the repair, they told us we gotta pay more for the actual fixin' and called the first payment a trip charge fee.

Sherman's I bought a fridge from Sherman's on July 2

I bought a fridge from Sherman's on July 2. They said it would arrive in 2-3 weeks. About a week later, they called me and said it would come on July 16. On July 15th, I called to ask about the delivery time. At first, they seemed clueless, but eventually admitted they hadn't received the fridge from the manufacturer yet. I've called them many times and texted the salesperson, but they always give me the same answer: no news and no delivery date. Since they won't tell me anything, I can only guess that they raised the price and don't want to sell it to me for the price I already paid.

Me and my wife, we got a new crib in October and got all new stuff for it. When we bought the furniture, Sherman's told us to get the extra warranty, saying it covers pretty much anything that happens to the furniture while the warranty is in effect. Since we planned on keeping the furniture for a long time, we went ahead and got the warranty. But about 18 months later, we started having issues with one of the pieces. We didn't think it would be a big deal because of the awesome warranty Sherman's sold us. Turns out, they forgot to mention that the warranty was sold by some other company and Sherman's has nothing to do with it. It's been almost 6 months now and we're still waiting for the repair. Sherman's dropped off the part at our doorstep and said the repair company would contact us in a couple days. Well, that hasn't happened and we've talked to both companies multiple times. The service from both of them has been really disappointing and we'll probably never shop at Sherman's again!

Sherman's I bought a coffee table and two end tables from Sherman's in May

I bought a coffee table and two end tables from Sherman's in May . Due to everything going on, I didn't get my stuff until the end of August. I had to call to find out why it took so long, and they said my stuff had been there for a while. In November, the tops of my end tables started falling apart. I sent pictures to Sherman's, and they said they would fix them by December. But December came and went, and I never got my tops. The same thing happened in January, February, and March. They promised me again in April, but I still didn't get them. Now they're saying the tops will be in by May 2022, but they don't know for sure. Instead of giving me a new set, they want me to keep this defective one in my house. I've been waiting since January 2022, and it's now May 2022 with no end in sight. They won't give me a new set even though it's under warranty.

Shermans has been working on the Miele dishwasher I bought from them in 2020 since February 2022. Just a day after the 2-year warranty ended, my dishwasher started showing a code that means water overflowed. A service person came about 2 weeks after my first call and asked if I had gotten a service number from Miele. I hadn't, but they said it wasn't a big deal and the office told me it was almost the end of the warranty, so they would contact Miele to see if they would honor it. No repairs were done because the water had evaporated, but the technician mentioned there might be a bead leak. About a month later, it happened again. Once again, I hadn't been informed about the process to contact Miele, so the technician came out again, same situation. I reached out to Miele and they agreed to provide a replacement fan if it happened again, which it did. The fan was replaced, and this time it lasted about 40 days before it happened again. Another person came out this time and insisted I call Miele first. He moved the dishwasher, and the next day it started leaking all over my floor. When they finally came out again, they told me I had a leak that would cost over $700 to fix. They broke my dishwasher. This error code would actually stop on its own, and everything they did made it worse and eventually broke my dishwasher.

I ordered a washer and dryer set from Sherman's and was all set for delivery. I gave specific instructions on who to call, but they ended up calling the wrong person. When the delivery crew arrived, they were nice, but they took out my old washer and dryer that were still working and put in the new ones. They replaced the gas line and the lines to the washer, but they left the dryer vent because ours was better. They mentioned that the washer would leak when the water started, and I would need to buy an extender. So now I don't have a working washer, even though I had one before. I called Sherman's and spoke to Kara, who said she called the driver and was told that I needed a plumber to fix the issue. She couldn't do anything and was really rude about it. I told her that my washer was working fine, so why would I need a plumber? Kara was very clear that she wasn't going to do anything and if I didn't call a plumber, I wouldn't have a washer. She made it clear that it wasn't her problem. I called a plumber and scheduled a time for them to come and fix the issue, after spending $1200 on the washer and dryer. Then, my daughter got a call saying they wanted to send someone out, but I already had a plumber scheduled. When the plumber looked at my washer, they found out that the drain line was installed incorrectly and didn't match the height in the manual, which was causing the issue.

We bought a fridge from Sherman's before and it had lots of problems with the icemaker. When it stopped working, we went back to Sherman's for a replacement. We told the salesperson about the issues we had with the Samsung fridge and they said the manufacturer had fixed them. So, we bought another Samsung fridge with an extended warranty. But we've been having the same problems since we bought it, even though they said it wouldn't be a problem. They've come to fix our fridge about 10 times and even replaced it once, but nothing has worked. A few months ago, they said if they couldn't fix it on the next visit, they would let us exchange it for a different brand. They've been here a few times since then, but now they won't let us get a different fridge. Last time they came, they replaced some parts and damaged a part of the door. They want to fix it, thinking it will solve the problem. We've had to buy ice for $50-100 because the icemaker doesn't work. The service people told us to buy a specific Samsung water filter, which cost us an extra $42.50, but it didn't fix the problem. The icemaker still doesn't work and it keeps leaking water. I want Sherman's to keep their promise and let us exchange the fridge for a different brand. They should also refund us for the ice and the unnecessary filter. I even said I would pay the difference if the new fridge cost more than the current one.

Sherman's Absolutely terrible customer service

Absolutely terrible customer service. I bought a washer and dryer in June this year. The agitator caught my bedsheet and Sherman's sent a repair man. He couldn't remove a bolt because it was stuck on the machine. They ordered a new agitator and 3 weeks later he came back. Still couldn't fix my machine, he actually broke it more. An employee confirmed that he broke it while trying to fix it. Your Peru manager called me at 5:29 tonight and I missed the call. I called back at 5:32 and was told she already left for the day. So I wasn't given a proper time to call her back. Keep in mind my husband called at 9:52 AM and asked her to call him back. She waited until 1 minute before the end of her shift. They also said they're waiting for the manufacturer to contact them to replace my machine. Considering that your employee broke it even more, I would expect you as a company to replace it. If he couldn't complete the repair, he should have stopped and told us to contact the manufacturer ourselves. Instead, he completely tore out the agitator and broke my machine beyond repair. As a customer, I'm furious that you're not taking responsibility and replacing the machine. It's less than 3 months old and it's broken, and now your repairman has made it worse. I don't have a washer and I have to pay for laundry, which you won't reimburse. I'm very disappointed in your service. I was planning on buying a surround sound system and a dining set from your company, but after this, I'll go somewhere else. You really should admit your employees' mistakes and make things right.

Sherman's Horrible experience with the repair team and customer service

Horrible experience with the repair team and customer service. Spent $600 to repair my fridge and had Sherman's out 5 times in 2 months. Left with a non-working fridge and a miserable customer service experience. I've been a loyal customer for 10 years. Fridge worked for a few hours after each repair, but Sherman's won't give credit for a new fridge because parts were in the unit for over 30 days. I called multiple times within those thirty days to report the fridge not working. Repairs took weeks due to Sherman's scheduling issues. Customer service manager didn't listen and didn't understand. Promised a call back, but no call returned. No confidence in repair technicians, felt like they randomly replaced parts without knowing the real issue. Asked if we should get a new fridge, they said to repair it. On the 5th visit, they suggested another $400 repair. Ordered a new fridge from Lowes, happy with the experience. Don't support Sherman's, they don't care about loyal customers. So disappointing. Would've bought more appliances from them, but they lost my business. Lowes was cheaper for the Kitchen Aid fridge we bought, and they offer free delivery. Hate to recommend a big company, but that's the situation Sherman's left us in.
