I have a bond with SA homeloans for 5years now. I have paid a deposit of R500,000.00 on my bond. Half of my pension. During Covid 19, I negotiated with the bank to pay less as I was on a contract job. They only gave me three months brake.

When my contract finaly ended in February 2022. I informed them. Instead after not paying my bond for two months. They put all my arrears including the ones during covert and said I needed to pay. I received summons in May that my house will be auctioned. I managed to pay them half of the arrears. They said i need to pay R3000 a month towards my arrears and my bond of R9300. Every month I am expected to pay R12300, yet I am unemployed. They refused to take a lesser amount for arrears. I could not pay in June. July I paid R13000.

In August I received a letter that my house will be put on auction on 29.09.2029 provided I pay all the outstanding arrears. I am self employed and can at least manage to pay R6000 a month. Since I have paid a bigger depoist, cant they recalculate a lesser bond?

Desired outcome: My house not to be auctioned. Revise my monthly payments
