Rothman Orthopaedic Institute review: Treatment by Dr Purtill

He performed hip replacement on July 6. I was told 2 weeks on walker 2 on cane. good to go after that. Did very well except for issue with stitch on incision. went back and forth on portal with, thought Purtill, with pain in leg and thigh, weakness getting worse. Was told "Keep walking" Next visit, where he never looked at incision, took 2 minutes where when I asked for an exercise to strengthen leg muscle as was very week, I got "just keep walking, do you hear me, just keep walking". then he left said come back in 6 months..Again, through portal to doctor, when describing pain, was told sounds like back so sent me to Dr Brown. Also to keep Purtill in loop made appt with him for after Brown. Brown, did exraay which shows narrowing of disks above and below previous back surgery and sent for MRI and PT. Walked in to Purtill and he came in asking why I was there. When I explained he acted as I was blaming him for everything wrong. Said he doesn't see when send messages to portal and through his assistant under the bus! accused me of coming in just to yell at him for not treating me correctly. I tried calmly to explain that he ran in and out at last appt without hearing me that I was in pain and didn't know what to do. He then called me a liar! I felt terrible for his assistant Sharlene and embarrassed for both of us. Then he ran out saying he did not have to listen to this and I left. I saw on his summary that I was aggressive and belligerent which has NEVER been me. I m more stressed as I would never go back to him and yet with a new hip will possible need aftercare and don't know what to do. I know my personality which is not loud or belligerent however, if I said I thought he did something, a professional would have just said, I am sorry I made you feel that way, how can I help? That would have been the professional way to handle it. But I was not. I really tried to just let him know he didn't give me the chance to tell how my pain felt wrong.
