Roots Magic Review: Unwanted Charge and Hassle for Refund
So, I was just minding my own business when I saw a charge on my debit card from Roots Magic. I had never even heard of them before! I was pretty upset, to say the least. I mean, who wants to be charged for something they didn't even know they were buying? It's just not right.
I did some digging and found out that Roots Magic is actually a genealogy software. I guess that's cool if you're into that kind of thing, but it's definitely not for me. I'm more of a Netflix and chill kind of person, you know what I mean?
Anyway, I tried to get a refund from Roots Magic, but it was like pulling teeth. They didn't want to give me my money back, even though I had no idea what I was paying for in the first place. It was a real headache.
In the end, I did eventually get my refund, but it was a lot of hassle. I wouldn't recommend Roots Magic to anyone, especially if you're not into genealogy. Stick to what you know, folks.
RootsMagic 8 Review: A Disappointing Step Back from RM7
RootsMagic is a genealogy software that has been around for quite some time. The latest version, RM8, has been a disappointment for many users. While RM7 was great, RM8 is just garbage. It freezes all the time on the simplest of tasks and has to be killed in task manager or by rebooting. This is frustrating for users who rely on the software to keep track of their family history.
The user interface of RM8 is also not as user-friendly as RM7. It takes longer to navigate through the software and find the features that you need. This can be frustrating for users who are used to the simplicity of RM7.
Another issue with RM8 is that it is not compatible with some of the older versions of RootsMagic. This means that if you have been using an older version of the software, you will not be able to transfer your data to RM8. This can be a major inconvenience for users who have been using RootsMagic for years.
Overall, RM8 is not worth the investment. It is a step back from RM7 and has too many issues to be considered a reliable genealogy software. If you are looking for a genealogy software, it is best to stick with RM7 or look for other options.
Review: RootsMagic Genealogy Software - Powerful Tool with Outdated Interface
RootsMagic is a genealogy software that has been around for a while. It's been updated to version 8, but unfortunately, it's not as user-friendly as it should be. The interface is clunky and outdated, and it's not easy to navigate. It's like going back in time to the 80s.
However, despite the outdated interface, RootsMagic is still a powerful tool for genealogy research. It has a lot of features that can help you organize your family tree and research. You can add photos, documents, and other media to your family tree, and you can also create reports and charts to help you visualize your research.
One of the best things about RootsMagic is its integration with other genealogy websites and databases. You can easily import and export data from other websites, such as Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org. This makes it easy to collaborate with other researchers and share your research with others.
Overall, RootsMagic is a good choice for genealogy research, despite its outdated interface. It's a powerful tool that can help you organize your research and collaborate with others. If you can overlook the clunky interface, you'll find that RootsMagic is a valuable tool for your genealogy research.

RootsMagic Review: MAC Users Beware - Total Disaster and Waste of Money
RootsMagic is a software that is supposed to help you with your genealogy research. However, if you're a MAC user, you might want to think twice before purchasing it. The MAC version is a total disaster. It crashes and freezes up all the time. It's frustrating and annoying, to say the least.
The support team at RootsMagic knows about the bugs in the MAC version, but they still sell it anyway. It's criminal, really. They're taking advantage of MAC users who are looking for a genealogy software that works on their platform.
If you're a MAC user, don't waste your time and money on RootsMagic. It's not worth it. There are other genealogy software options out there that work on MACs. Save yourself the headache and look for something else.
Disappointing Upgrade: Version 8 Falls Short Compared to Version 7
This program is just plain awful. I was really disappointed with it. I mean, version 7 was so much better looking and easier to use. I can't believe I wasted my money on this. I definitely won't be using version 8. Thank goodness I still have version 7. I used to work in IT, and let me tell you, this program is not an improvement.
Review of RootsMagic and Alternative: Synium's MacTree 9.1.2
RootsMagic is a software that I have been using for a while now. I was eagerly waiting for the release of RM8, just like most Mac users. It has been almost a year since I have been waiting for it. The Mac wrapper of RM7 has started locking up my Mac running Catalina. It has become quite frustrating for me as I don't have the time or patience to wait for it any longer. I have been hearing the phrase "any day now" for too long.
In the meantime, I have found an alternative to RootsMagic. Synium's MacTree 9.1.2 works fine and is actually available. It has been a lifesaver for me as it has helped me manage my genealogy research without any issues. I have found it to be quite user-friendly and easy to navigate. It has all the features that I need to keep my research organized.
However, I am still hopeful that RootsMagic will release RM8 soon. I have been a loyal user of their software for a long time and I am sure that they will not disappoint me. I am looking forward to the new features that they will introduce in RM8. I hope that they will address the issues that I have been facing with the Mac wrapper of RM7.
Overall, I would recommend Synium's MacTree 9.1.2 to anyone who is looking for an alternative to RootsMagic. It is a great software that has helped me manage my genealogy research without any issues. However, if you are a loyal user of RootsMagic like me, then I would suggest that you wait for the release of RM8. I am sure that it will be worth the wait.
