My furnace was operating perfectly before the scheduled maintenance appointment. After the first technician completed the service, the furnace stopped working. I contacted your office, and a second technician was dispatched, who admitted that the first technician had forgotten to reconnect a component. After this was corrected, the furnace worked briefly but failed again within 30 minutes.
Following this, I called your office once more, and a third technician inspected the unit and informed me that the heat exchanger is cracked. This diagnosis was shocking because the furnace was functioning properly before your initial maintenance visit. The timing of these failures and the admission of an error by the first technician raise serious concerns about the quality and care exercised during the service. It is difficult to accept that the heat exchanger failure is purely due to age when the furnace was working well prior to your intervention.
I request a written report explaining why your team believes the heat exchanger failure is due to age and not related to the maintenance performed. I also expect a full investigation into whether technician error contributed to this damage and immediate corrective action—either repair or replacement of the furnace at no cost to me if your service caused the issue. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will file formal complaints with Consumer Protection Alberta and the Better Business Bureau and seek legal remedies for negligence and breach of contract.
