Sage Law Offices Practicing illegal collection.

My son received 2 physical therapy sessions of 30 min each. The market price range of this service is around $50 per session. Prior to the sessions, I received an estimated price of $120 per session. That information was provided by William Simmons, the actual physiotherapist that attended to my son.

Despite my son needing treatment of 10 sessions, after 2 we decided to change the provider due to the bad services my son received.

However, after a while the hospital billed the insurance the amount of $ 1,905, meaning 8 times more than the estimated cost ($120 per session). The insurance paid $285.75 and adjusted the total charge with the hospital. So, the hospital sent me a final bill of $80, which I paid.

To my surprise, some months after the hospital started to bill me an alleged difference of $1,539.25.

The hospital received $182,88 per each ridiculous session of 30 minutes. More than the estimated $120.

This overpriced charge is totally illegal since the hospital adjusted the cost with the insurance as well as already charged me the difference not covered that I paid promptly.

It is notorious that once the total charge is repriced by the insurance, and the provider accepts the lesser fee, the extra value CANNOT be charged.

Some months ago, came to me an internal communication whereby the actual hospital employee recognizes they are trying to receive an amount 400% above the price already paid which they prior accepted.

The hospital is violating the No Surprises Act rules by billing us an enormous amount extremely over the good faith estimated price.

Besides, I didn’t receive any itemized list with specific details about the services provided able to justify the amount pursued by the hospital. What in that physical therapy sessions would justify such a huge cost?

Recently, I started to receive threat letters from Sage Law Offices (debt collector). Even after I explained and PROVED the payment, they insist on harras me with undue charges. I made some search and it seems to be the modus operandi of this Law Firm. I would like them to stop this illegal practice because I don't owe anything else.

The above law office is a debt collector on behalf of Memorial Regional Hospital. It filed a judgment against me even though I was paying something towards the bill back in 2003. I paid the judgment in full, which the mortgage company that I refinanced with in August 2006 paid the remaining balance. However, the attorney's office refuses to show that the...
