Luminous Brites Unauthorized charges to checking account

I did not agree to keep receiving this product and telephone calls and e-mails to cease shipments and charges to my account have been ineffective. My checking account has been charged $88.97 for approximately six months. Because these charges are unexpected, it has caused my account to be overdrawn several times and cost me hundreds of dollars in overdraft charges.

I ordered an AuquaFresh free sample for tooth lightening product. I paid the shippling and handling fee of $4.99. I then began receiving additional monthly packages and, resulting in overdraft charges several times.

Luminous Brites rip off people

This message is for Lori Trout in Fl - I have no way to contact you - call your credit card company NOW. Send the packageback certified, return receipt. Those people who answer the phones there are like sweatshop workers low life uneducated slobs, and thieves now too. Please also contact the better business bureau in your state. They have a "C" rating which is not bad by them but if more and more complain like we should that would change. To this date, they still have not responded back to the better business bureau. I will NOT pay those losers.

I do not want your product and would like my 88.99 you charges my account put back in. I would also like you to know that since you took out this money you have caused an over draft in my account. Another thing is that the money was taken out of my account on Dec. 5th and I have sill not recieved any type of product from you.

THEY OFFERED A TRIAL SUPPLY OF THEIR TEETH WHITENING PRODUCT FREE OF CHARGE EXCEPT FOR SHIPPING. i NEVER AGREED TO OR AUTHORIZED ADDITIONAL SHIPMENTS AND, IN FACT, RETURNED THE ORIGINAL TRIAL SHIPMENT. I HAVE NOW RECEIVED ADDITIONAL PRODUCT MATERIAL AND A NOTE INDICATING A CHARGE OF $88.97 PER MONTH. i AM ONE OF A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEED DEFRAUDED BY THEIR TACTICS AND I AM COMTEMPLATING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM.

I filled out form for free teeth whiteing kit plus s&h and they took $88.97 out of my acc.t. After emailing them 4 times I called and was told at the end of the form was a box that was checked . That meant I had signed a contract.I do not recall such a box as I would never have ordered anything. I am a senior citizen and I cannot afford to give these people my money. What box? It, s a scam.

I ordered I free trial and without permission luminous brites charged my debit account $87.00. I called and told them to cancel and they told me to go to the website for more information but I could never get it to pull up. This is a scam and I intend to call an attorney friend of mine if my account is not remibursed. I don't know how people can steal from you and get away with it!

I did not authorize a transaction to be taken from my bank account for 88.97 and have authorized my bank not to pay the transaction. I authorized a tranaction for 4.99 for a tube of teeth whitener. I paid for the shipping and handling and did not authroize any other payments nor do I want your product. I just wanted to try it to see if it worked. If I receive the product I will return it.

Have been dealing with this company since November, 2008. Clearly deceptive sales practices involved. Eventually they agreed to a 50% refund which I accepted. To date they have not credited my credit cards. The last e-mail, a couple months ago said I would receive the refund once their system was restored as it had been down. Haven't heard anything further. They have ignored all further e-mail. Gave impression they are continuing their scam using different products.

biggest scam on the net. when you dispute with your bank, they make up a date after the 20 day cancellation date and say you did it after the cancellation period. They also generated a fake invoice to make it look like product was delivered.

Charged my credit card $88.97 on 11/18/08 without my knowledge or agreement after I purchased a "one time only offer" teeth whitening gell from them. I never agreed to any further shipments or charges and yet received one on 12/1/08. I tried to cancel and was referred to a non-existent website. My credit card company will be dealing with this matter.

Luminous Brites is a scam! They take your credit card number to pay for the $5 shipping, and then charge you $88.97 and send you a second shipment you never asked for. Don't be fooled by these thieves! I have 2 packages at my home that I didn't want and they refuse to refund or take back the product I 'bought'. I thought it was a reputable company when the had 'Crest' all over the add, but they have nothing to do with this fraudulent operation. The people at customer service will only give you the total runaround too...write to customer service, they will get back to you in 74 hours...ya, with a completely generic mail trying to to tell you that you were the one who didnt look into the fine print enough. Shame on Luminous Brites!

These kinds of "free" offers are definitely banking on the fact that most people don't read the fine print, but since I did, I realized that they make it clear that it is a subscription. The first one is free, but since you are now subscribed as they see it, they go ahead and charge you each month. A lot of free magazine offers work like this too. I haven't gotten mine and it's been a while so I think maybe I should make the cancellation call now. I was wondering if I made it too soon though if I wouldn't receive my sample at all, even though they took the money out of my debit account a day or two after I signed up. They must plan it so you don't get your sample until it's almost the deadline for canceling or even after. I think in this case you had 15 days. Getting free stuff can be a tricky game, but if you make sure to read the fine print and keep track of when you have to cancel and stuff, I think you can win a lot of them. I like free stuff though! Good luck with fighting them, but since you had to agree to their terms, you can probably cancel further shipments/billing but I bet they won't give you your $88 back. Jerks.

I had the same thing happen and they charged my account and never mailed any 30 day supply and hung up on me when i called their suppose customer service line. They gave me two different dates that the product supposedly shipped and I did not receive anything now they say I can return it for a full refund we'll see. Also if you go to your bank they will investigate it and possibly return your funds but they will cancell that card so it could not be charged again .

I am furious that this company took advantage of me through their misleading and deceiving advertising. I work too hard to for them to STEAL $88.97 of my money for an inadequate, cheap, worthless product. I have canceled my credit card, disputed the charge, filed a report with my states Attorney General's Office (Always do this, it is worth these people being stopped and easy to do.) I also filed a complaint with Yahoo for letting these people advertise through them and the Better Business Bureau. I will get my money back, I will not quit until I do.

I am having great difficulty getting the number I need to send the shipment back. I did not know anything about continuous monthly shipments or I never would have ordered it. The person on the phone told me I had to go to this sight to cancel, he could not do it over the phone for me. The problem is when you get to the sight, there is no information on how to cancel! Very poor business practice! I did however look up my bill where I paid the original $5.99 and called them to be on the lookout for an$ 89.00 charge coming from Luminous Brites and they notated it and I should be ok and protected when they try charging me. I hope someone can stop this shabby operation. Steph Z.

Luminous Brites Fraud

I never knowingly authoritzed this company to charge my account $88.97 like they did, I truly never read the terms and conditions that I will in the future. These people at the 800 customer service line are rude ignorant people who do not care. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Too bad we have companies like this since now I will no longer order on the internet from companies. I will stick with Amazon for everything.

This is the worst place that I have ever had to deal with and this weekend when I have time I will be filing complaints with all parties involved. They do this because they know people are too busy and really sometimes not everyone looks at their statements. I am disputing the charge now. I will find the Better Business Bureau in CA and do all that I possibly can from NJ.

I received the introductory offer. Today November 22, 2008 I received two syringes with the tooth whitening agent in it. A note was in the shipment that I would be charged $88.97 every 30 days. I wish to return what was sent in this shipment, unused as I have no intention of using this unsafe practice of sending filled syringes in the mail. First, of all it is a dangerous practice if it is mailed to a home a child or pet could consume the contents. Also, I cannot afford the expensive payments. I was only interested in the initial offer. Please I do not want any more payments made from my debit card. I am on a very limited budget. I will try to contact the company by phone. Thank you for your assistance

I responded to an internet ad for a teeth whitening product. The ad said it was a free 14 day trial size for only the shipping charge of $4.99. I received the product and about two weeks later, there was an unauthorized debit from my account in the amount of $88.97. I only wanted to try this product, did not want to continue with it and did not authorize further debits from my account.

Now I cannot get in touch with the company to get the process going to get a refund - and time is running out. The website I was initially directed to is nonexistent - and neither is the secondary site www.luminousbrites.com. Nobody answers the only phone number I have for them. Not to mention that the number is in California which happens to be a 3-hour difference from my time zone so I am always at work during the hours they are open.

Soon my ability to receive a refund IF I can jump through all the hoops exactly as required will be expired. Apparently, I only have 15 days from the date I was billed in order to receive a refund. I have a half sheet piece of paper sent to me with the product trial that looks like it was printed from an ordinary computer that says that I must receive an RMA (return merchandise authorization) within 15 days of the date I was charged. Then it states that all cancellation notices need to be received within 20 days of the date I was billed. This 'company' has made it extremely difficult for people to get refunds of their fraudulent charges.

This is a scam! Just go to your dentist to see if they have a sample of a teeth whitening product.

I have been sent a month supply of Luminouos Brite product which I did not order. Upon calling the company, they gave me this website to e-mail for information on how to get my money back and where to return the product. I am on disability income and did not order this product. I only ordered the sample. I gave no permission for said company to use my credit card to take money out of my account. I need to get the address of where to send back the product and receive my refund.
If this company has any integrity at all, the information requested will be sent to me.
This is consumer fraud and it should be charged against this company to ward off other unsuspecting people.

thought I was just ordering a free sample and then found out that they took $88.00 dollars out of my account for another shipment that I didnt want. called to cancel and was told that it had been canceled but I had to wait to get the shipment first because it had already been sent out and then go to luminousbrites.comcustomer service and email them for an authorization code to return the product. I recieved the shipment and emailed them on december 1, 2008 and did get a response the next day but it had nothing to do with giving me a return authorization code so I emailed them again on december 3, 2008 asking for the return authorization code and got no response from them what so ever. I looked at their return policy and it says that you may return the product for a full refund within 15 days of THE DATE THAT THEY SHIPPED IT TO YOU, problem is that they shipped it to me on November 19th and I didnt even recieve it until Dec 1st which left me a whole 3 or 4 days to return it to them and then could not even get them to respond to my email with a return authorization code . this company is a bunch of rip offs. There has to be some way to take care of this. They should be shut down and the people that have been ripped off by them should all be reinbursed!

I ordered a sample of a teeth whitening kit off of the web. While I was waiting for it to arrive my husband informed me that my card was charged $89. I was surprised. That's a lot of money and when he said who charged it, Luminousbrites.com I was upset. I already paid the shipping and handling for the Free Sample and on top of that they are charging me another $89. What really made me mad is that I had not received the "Free Sample" yet. So, I looked them up on line found a phone number and called. When I finally got through the guy on the other end said that not only have I received it but I ordered it past the time to cancel. I told him that that is ridiculous cause I just ordered it and I didn't get it yet! He told me to write an e-mail to support@luminousbrites.com and I will be refunded. I'm still waiting for my refund. I don't think that people/companies like that should be in business. It's fraud, unethical and they're stealing from people. I didn't even get anything from that company and they still charged me. I think that they should be put out of business.

I called the company on Mon. Oct 20th to cancel my commitment to the company. The person I reached said he would cancel my contract and E mail the cancellation number to my E mail. When I called again today Oct 23 the agent wouldn't give me a cancellation N0. and referred me back to the internet to get help with the cancellation. The agent did tell me the account had been canceled but that I would have to go on the internet to get the cancellation number.
What kind of mickey mouse outfit is this? I have more to do with my time than go back and forth to find out about the cancellation? I will send the materials back as soon as I get a cancellation number.

I checked off a trial offer, thinking that they were offering a newly designed whitestrip - based on their add wording. Once they got my credit card number they started charging me $88.77 per month. There were no white strips. What you got was a syringe of goo and two mouthguards. This is a fake offer in my opinion and should not be allowed to continue. It is impossible to get your charges taken off your card because the card companies really do not stand up for your consumer rights. This company is being allowed to perpetrate a fraud in my opinion. They come up with bogus screen shots that claim that you OKd a monthly billing, which is completely ridiculous.

I have now been billed twice by your company for 89 dollars each time. After the first time I called and canceled your product and was assured I would not be billed again. Of course I was billed again. I assume I will be billed again next month as well. I called your customer service, and they said I would never be billed again. I have tried for 5 days to call company with no response to calls. I ordered the free trial which was supposed to arrive in 3-5 days, I recieved it 12 days later. Unfortunately my time allowed to call for cancellation happened to fall during the Thanksgiving holiday and I was not able to reach anyone. I finally got Larry on the phone today and asked that they cancel my subscription. He said I would have to email the billing department for a refund and they will email me my confirmation # would not give me one verbally. I want my $88.97 back in my account asap.
