EZ Pass NY Fraud

Ezpass Customer Account Correspondence

Fraudulent activity

On March 8th 2021 at 926 pm I received a suspicious email from Ezpass to rate employee Stephan because I it said I contacted Ezpass. I Never contacted Ezpass about anything, So the next day I contacted Ezpass and was told that someone has fraudulently accessed my account and transferred their toll bill to my account. Now why in the world would this employee give a random person whos transaction had a different vehicle, different plate, different address, different name, different phone number, the access to transfer her toll bill to my account. After speaking with several supervisors Derich and Joseph, supervisor number 13438. Both have told me that there was evidence of fraud and they reviewed the audio call noticed a women has scammed my account. I know who this woman is and was able to track the transaction number. That fact that employee Stephan let this women who I was told by the supervisors was a separate transaction that had Nothing to do with my account permission should be disciplined or even terminated for allowing this criminal act to take place. I have spoken to the police and them to were shocked that she was so easily able to transfer her bill to someone's account so easy knowing that It was not me who made the call and nothing she had matched my account. After several calls The supervisors told me they can not reverse the tolls. How can a stranger post their bill on my account, but the actual account holder showed proof of fraud can not get the bill reversed and charged back to the original person. Attached is one of the bills I was able to obtain showing a different Car, plate name and address transaction number (not on my account). The supervisors both explained to me that I would have to cancel my account and request a reimbursement and the original owner of the transaction would be re billed and will have to pay their transaction. This should have never happened in the first place . Absolutely ridiculous to have someone with ease charge what they want on someone else's account and now I have to do all this just to get my account credited and the person who committed the crime the bill that's theirs. I was also told that I now have to cancel my account so I can get reimbursed the fee that I was fraudulently charged for and start a new account

Desired outcome: refund

EZ Pass NY fraudulent charges

For the past year I would receive a violation notice that a toll was not paid and at the same time there would in fact be a charge on my account for that toll and they refuse to reimburs me. Also, I have a truck which is class 3 however the toll picks it up as a class 5 and a class 6 which results in an over charge to my account in which ezpass refuses to refund my money, They claim toll is valid but offer no proof. This is a clear case of fraud and it needs to stop as well as refund my money.

I have received a bill from tolls by mail, paid in full (with late charges included) 6 weeks ago, only to received a new bill, doubled in price, in January. The only way to contact the port authority to dispute this is by phone -- with a 20 minute wait!

The initial charge for tolls was $8.64.

Now, I am asked to pay $117 (after paying $63 in early Dec., which went through and appeared as a charge on my bank account).

I have been going back and forward with EZ Pass customer service & their office in Albany regarding fraudulent charging on my EZ Pass. I have not taken the pass out of the pouch, nor been out of the state of NY since 2016 and charges have been racking up on my license plate which are on my car.
I purchase the pass in Oct 2017 and charges have been adding up since February 2018. I have sent numerous of letters to Albany and have called the 800.333.8655 and each time I have been told something different. I was informed they don't go by the EZ Pass when going through the tolls but scan your plates which is a lie because my plates are on my car that I use everyday going back & forward to work.
They don't want to correct this problem although I have request them to investigate. I sent my vehicle registration and everything else they have asked for including the button back. I spoke with a supervisor yesterday (1/23/19) and she was not helpful at all. I am due $75.00 & I am going to seek legal advice against MTA Bridges & Tunnels Authority. Thank God I took my card of the account before they hit it again for more money.
