Order number Dripping Springs, TX h8995-155448 My husband and I are building a home. We live in Dripping Springs Texas. We have ordered almost every item from Home Depot for our home. Back in October of last year we ordered our doors and windows from Home Depot via Anderson window. We were patiently waiting for all of our doors and windows that were...

The sliding door leaks, I have had three contractors out to my residence to repair. They have indicated the door is defective. I have called anderson multiple times. I have used their email system to report the claims. No one responds. I spent 54,000 on windows and doors, and I can not get a response on a leaky sliding glass door. Every time there are high...

Anderson Windows order partial shipped confusing two attached dh windows as qty 2

Placed a 40k order thru HD for assorted windows and doors from Anderson last summer. After the required months wait was delivered about 125 various boxes, doors and windows. all sets of multiple units Qty 2 was interpreted by someone at Anderson as one double unit not two. The same for the triple DH and another double DH. So instead of two triples and four doubles I got three units total.
When I finally got to talk with someone at Anderson he said they shipped three triple units (9 windows) and I should have one triple extra? They actually shipped one triple unit (3 windows) but counted it as three. I wondered how anyone could work there filling orders when they are so confused about how to count units.

Months later I am waiting for the field rep. to call as I was finally shipped seven individual windows with no parts to join them into double and triple units, screens, jambs or the other things ordered in the first place. They can't seem to simply verify what was ordered, shipped, or not, and remedy the error.

I know it's hard to find help, but for the Anderson rep to suggest they ship a "extra" $2800 unit for free to explain how they count a triple DH unit as "three"? They might have been a good company 30 years ago when I started buying from them but they are being ruined when a project is held up for months while a customer of 30 years can't get an order filled in 6 months due to in house errors. Looking for other window makers...

We built a house in 2005, and like others in this forum, believed Anderson to be a quality company, so when our builder ordered all the windows from Anderson, we didn't complain. But in the years since the house was built, we have had nothing but problems with the quality of the windows that Anderson shipped us. They are 9-light casements, and within a...

Anderson Windows leaking, drafty & won't lock or close properly

We built a home and used Anderson windows thinking that we choose the better window company WRONG. Since day 1 we have have nothing but issue's . The builders were no help either. I have had Rep's from Anderson and actually seen & tried working the windows themselves & know for a fact we have major problems. They tried 1 thing to resolve the issue of only 1 problem (which was for the drafts coming through) which didn't work. As far as the windows not closing properly & the locking mechanism's all messed up they always avoided that issue. Clearly knowing we have major issue's with the windows (at least 85-90 %) of the windows in our home. The situation is that they know they are faulty & should have been replaced. We still had nothing resolved after all of these years. Since August of 1991.
One of the service rep's from Anderson even told us that the windows we received weren't even an upgraded window as we wanted our windows were basically the lowest grade on the line. Can anyone help us. Is their current lawsuits going on now that we can join in on. Frustrated and angry!

I am so upset with my Andersen windows, I could puke! We live in the country and the winds have been occasional! But with open fields around us, the windows leak dust - every damn one. Reps have been here several times, but no fix to the problem. I have a picture window which is NOT Andersen and never leaks! I do believe it’s a combo of poor windows and the installation! Next step, I am going to talk to an Attorney!

I had the original Andersen double hung windows in my home replaced with Andersen 400 double hung windows. They were purchased & installed by a large Andersen window dealer. I’m so disappointed in them. They are not much better than the old windows they replaced. Every window is drafty & downright uncomfortable to be near In the winter. Dirt finds it way through to the sills, too. I expected so much more.

Anderson is a terrible window company. They have poor or no quality control, and claim another company is responsible for certain doors and windows in my house, and won't accept responsibility. That company says they do not do business in my zip code. No one returns calls. I was promised a quality control person would contact me within three business days, but that never happened. I keep calling and, while they have detailed information about the faulty windows and installation, they will not do anything but transfer me through a maze of computer generated voices that lead to nowhere but a disconnect, or someone who wants to transfer me yet again. I spent $28, 000 replacing windows and doors, but that was only for half of what exists in my house, they will never get my business again. I plan to call the attorney general on a number of issues, these people really need to be shut down.

Just in case you have a brick house or a new house built, the house can settle over time. Meaning the walls will sink, and the brick stays stationary causing a crownd sill, because the window is attached to the house frame, the bricks pinch the frame causing this crown sill. This happens more often in newer homes, again the ground is not sold the walls sink because the weight of the house and if it's a two story house the upper windows sills will crown or hump the worst. The brick layers, bricked right up too the window sill on the bottom side and did not use 3/8" to 1/2" backer rod under the sill for the recommend gap per Manufacturer Warranty and install specs. I sold a house job ($120, 000 in Andersen Windows), recently and every casement window in this 2 million dollar home was bricked right up under the sill of the window, I showed the customer the window MGF label stating to leave a 3/8" gap they were still on the windows and all had crowned sills, this is not a Manufacturer error its a contruction error. The brick layer is at fault, not the customer, not the Andersen Window Company. I had the customer show the label to the brick layer and he stated Blah blah blah over 20 years of experience, well the next five windows did not crown because he followed my suggestion. So before you start pointing fingers look your self in the mirror and ask the question is it really installed correctly. There is no warranty for ignorce, and or not reading manufacter specs, or assuming there is such a thing as "free" service.

Sounds like an install problem. If it bothers you so much why not reinstall the window. Andersen Windows don't leak unless they are install properly. 99% of the time the windows are install incorrectly they will leak. I sell them through a lumber yard, and if they leak, almost everytime they leak it's because they are not installed correctly. Take a take measure on the outside of the window, and measure diagonally the measure has to be the same to be square and the bubble level has to be in the center of the level also to be plumb.

I have run into the same concern. I had a new home built and had anderson windows installed boy what a mistake. Every window in the home is leaking! The anderson windows rep came out and said that the windows are "pickle barrelled" by a 1/16 of an inch which is horse crap since the installation info that another anderson rep sent me says that they should be within 1/8 of an inch. I advised the rep that I though he was full of it and he responded that these windows cant be out any or they will leak. Are you telling me that 1/32 fo an inch on one side causes a leak? Anderson windows seals cannot seal 1/32 of an inch gap. I work with 400 guys and they all know the story on my windows, and that anderson is not willing to do anything about their inferior product. I talk to people across the country everyday and will make sure everyone knows the crap that anderson windows is building! I have multiple pictures of Dirt actually coming in at the bottom of the sills, and numerous movies of wind leaking in at every seam on every window. I am going to get my Lawyer involved at this point.

So what is the problem with the window? I'm sure if its a fogged sash that they would give you another one as thats a 20 year warranty, all else is 10 year.
