Complaint Statement
I wish to formally lodge a complaint regarding the highly unsatisfactory and unsafe service I received at the Kamunting Proton Service Centre, which has left my vehicle in worse condition than before and raised serious concerns about safety and accountability.
On 22nd August 2025, I sent my car (Reg. No. NDU 4103) for routine servicing at the Kamunting Service Centre. Merely three days later, on 25th August 2025, the vehicle suddenly stalled in the middle of the road, with the engine shaking violently. With assistance from friends, I managed to move the car to safety and contacted Proton. Two technicians were sent, and one admitted that during my service, a new plug (imported from Thailand) had been installed in my car to test its quality. This was done without my knowledge or consent. They replaced it with a standard plug, which reduced but did not resolve the shaking, and asked me to “monitor it for a few days.”
On 30th August 2025, I received a service follow-up message, to which I replied expressing dissatisfaction and ongoing issues. I received no response. On 8th September 2025, I visited the Service Centre in person. A technician test-drove the car but dismissed the issue as intermittent and declined to accept the car for inspection due to “no slot availability.” Despite promising to revert with a slot within 2–3 days, no follow-up was ever provided.
The shaking issue persists and only began after the unauthorized plug installation. Furthermore, though alignment and balancing were performed during service, I discovered a swollen tire shortly thereafter — a serious issue that should have been detected.
This negligence is unacceptable. Using my car to test unproven parts without consent posed a severe safety risk, especially since I travel with my six-month-old baby. Had the breakdown occurred on a highway, the consequences could have been catastrophic.
I request an immediate resolution to this matter. If no satisfactory action is taken, I will escalate the issue further, including lodging a police report and making this case public.
