No, it's not a new rule, it's the way David's Bridal has always been. If they let brides just try on wedding gowns by themselves, they would trash them and leave them on the floor. We're talking items worth hundreds of dollars. and people would just trash them and leave them on the floor.
It is a business you know. Go to a library.
Why didn't you simply ask for help?
Also, that associate could have been a manager or a support person, who do not get paid in commission. Besides, why do you care if someone gets paid commission on it? Plus, the dresses are SIX-EIGHT weeks for delivery, not three or less.
Yeah, websites usually do updates in the middle of the night. Their dresses are cheap anyways, and it's a nightmare to send then back if it doesn't fit. You're better off not going with DB and spending more money to get good quality.
There's no such thing as "sample dresses" at David's Bridal. You buy off the rack there. The only way you get a new dress is if they don't have your size or color, and even then, sometimes they pull from other stores. You get what you pay for. and they don't accept returns, and if they do, they send it back to the warehouse. So you didn't get a "used" dress, your alterations gal was mistaken.
Why didn't you leave upon seeing how dirty things were?
It's not personal information if it's on the freaking receipt.
Macy's employees do not wear uniforms.
Do you know whey they have such a return policy? Because people would buy dresses, wear them to the wedding, and then return them. Would you want to wear a used bridesmaid dress or a used wedding dress? hell no! It ain't David's Bridal's fault you couldn't fit into your dress!
I'm pretty sure that the "no cash returns" policy is written EVERYWHERE in the store, at the cash wrap, and on the receipt. Don't get pissy at the manager because you failed to figure out the return policy.
Yeah I second the commenter above me... you've got to be kidding me that you're complaining when you seriously could have hurt yourself and another customer by taking apart a mannequin. There's a reason why customers aren't allowed to do stuff like that. They could fall and get hurt and then sue the store. She had every right to be pissed at you for that.
"Oh! and I even remember when my friend wanted to buy a ring for me from there, they charged a 2.80$ ring for $5.00 just because there wasnt a tag on it. They'll try to rip you off!"
The horror!
I understand that what you went through was horrible, but no retailer would accept a return after 8 years. Simply put. I work at Macy's and we won't return stuff that old. Nordstrom won't. No retailer would. Not a single one.
It sucks that they dropped the ball on you by not returning the items 8 years ago, but you would have been best off selling it on eBay or taking it to a consignment store.
You seriously need to go talk to a therapist and move on. It's very apparent that you are still upset over the death of your former fiance, and are taking it out on them because they won't (rightfully) accept a return from items that are 8 years old.
You have met a new man, are getting married, so sell your old stuff and move on.
I don't understand what your complaint is.
People don't get jobs all of the time. I remember I had gone through a very long interview process for Progressive Insurance and I didn't get the job. It happens.
I call ###. It's physically impossible for them to sign you up for a credit card without your permission. They need your birthdate, social security number, address, and annual income in order to open a Macy's credit card.
If you put your social security number, birthdate, address, and annual income in their keypad, then you opened a line of credit and it's your fault.
So compalin about Belgique, not Macy's. What does Macy's have to do with this?
I don't know who the hell you talked to but DB has NEVER offered "one free alteration with purchase." Ever.
Besides, if this happened in 2008-09, why are you posting two years later? It's so ###ing simple... get your alterations done elsewhere. Of course, your wedding was over two years ago, so why are you posting this now? You are such an idiot... any gown you buy is going to need alterations! Especially if you're short!
How about you stop eating crap and diet and exercise and not rely on diet pills?
Of course they'll take them back. Macy's will take anything back for up to a year, and if you have a receipt, it's like two or three years.
So call the place you ordered it from and complain to them.
