Oh dear, another rescue with the right intentions but the wrong implementation. This seems to be a running storyline with too many rescue groups. How horrifyingly sad that horses are drastically underweight/undernourished and foals are dying.

I do believe the complaint and testimony by people like zmom. The posts of Sameolcrap and stopboguscomplaints sound like the same person, but even if not, sound like they are making up things as they go in order to respond to newer complaints.

Hopefully, an investigation and some attention will set this rescue on the right track.

Hope your dog is ok now.
Poor doggie!

I see a lot of complaints about various PetSmarts here. Makes me think the cheap option is not the way to go. Even if an intern groomed your dog, there should have been a supervisor who was making sure things went safely.

Will they pay for any vet fees you have as a result of this?

Most pet stores get their dogs from puppy mills, which have appalling conditions that foster illness. Do some research, check PETA.org: don't buy from pet stores!

Good luck with your pup.

Oh you poor dear! I am SO SORRY for your loss. How callous was their treatment of your dog and you. And no matter what they do now, nothing can bring your beloved dog back. So, so sorry. {{{hugs}}}
How's your dog doing?

It's difficult to read your complaint because of caps lock. That said, surely you know by now that anyone requesting money be sent off shore is a scam. Sorry you got taken. Lesson learned.
Sorry for you and your puppy. This kind of story is all too common. Rescues and transports and puppy mills don't care about the health of the animals, just about making money.

Good luck.

People in animal rescue can be so screwey! They make all sorts of rules that they apply to every animal even if the rule doesn't suit that particular animal. Rescues aren't always honest or up front but they want to know every single thing about you! Have you checked out the White Paws complaint? That rescue took a volunteer's information off her application and called her vet after she asked them not to because she decided not to adopt a dog. Rescues can't be trusted.

What happened? Did you get your dog?

You didn't mention the name of the agency, but I suppose it doesn't matter. It's just a safe bet that these kinds of "too good to be true" deals usually are.

I hope you find the puppy of your dreams. Please check legitimate shelters and avoid pet stores because those dogs usually come from puppy mills.

Good luck.

M R Orel, the problem is this can also happen in shelters and rescues. CHeck out the White Paws complaint; those dogs had parvo and got other people's dogs sick, but the rescue refuses to pay vet fees.

You have to throughly check out anyone you want to buy a dog from.

Good luck, texas 2009. Keep us posted.

So sorry about your puppy. It seems like a lot of people are having trouble with parvo dogs.

Good luck.

I'm losing faith in all rescues because there are too many reports of sick animals and crooked people running them. What's the answer? Expensive breeders? Shelters? Friends of friends?

I hope the kitten - and your husband - is ok and that you love the kitten no matter what.

But it sounds like the puppy mill was more honest than the person who sold you the pups.

I hope your puppy is healthy and that you are happy with your yorkie. In the end, that's the most important thing.

Training. That's the only pain-free way to "de-bark" a dog. Any other way is senseless torture.

Most dogs sold in pet stores come from puppy mills, which have appalling conditions and foster disease and physical problems.

I'm sorry your puppy has had all these problems, but I'm glad you're keeping her and I'm glad you had her spayed. There are too many unwanted dogs and cats in this country already. We don't need fancy breed puppies. Please consider a shelter for your next pet.

Good luck.
Those poor horses!

It seems like a lot of evidence is piling up. Why hasn't AC done something?
I'm surprised that no one at the store heard the dog yelping in pain while being groomed. Wasn't there anyone in there besides the intern? Interns should always be supervised, so there shoudl have been someone nearby who should have stepped in when they saw what was going on. PetSmart is definitely responsible.

I dont' understand why one person's name is on the contract if another person sold the kittens.

You should always check references before purchasing an animal and if possible, you should physically check out the breeder's place.

Hope your cat will be ok. Sorry you're stuck with a bill but that's what happens when we taken animals into our homes sometimes.

Goodluck.

Did they pay any of the vet bill? Did you accept? If so, it's over, I'm afraid. If you did not accept, you could continue to push for the full amount, but it might not be worth the hassle and you might not get it.

Sorry about your dog. Hope she's ok now.

OMG, I'm so sorry for your dog!

I didn't even know PetSmart boarded dogs?

It certainly sounds like they are covering up something as the symptoms don't match the diagnosis. Do they do autopsies on dogs? Is there any way to find out what really happened to your dog?

Good luck and keep us posted.

Again, so sorry. Of COURSE our companion animals are part of the family! I'm sure you are grieving for your poor doggie.
Too bad you didn't research as thoroughly before you bought your dog. Some breeders are notorious for puppy mill techniques designed to earn large profits at the expense of the animals.

Good luck with your dog.

Always follow your animal's lead. After all, they should have some say in who takes care of them. They can tell us so much if only we listen to them.
