This is not an LCBO issue. Please deal directly with the Beer Store. They are not associated with the LCBO
Our CSR's are not needed to rush. They can take any amount of time they need with each customer to make sure they have the best experience possible.
"without any proper customer service training" We over train our employees with Customer First training, so this statement is not correct.

Greetings,
As our employees are human, they will let a bad word slip from time to time. Though we do not like hearing it was in-front of a customer. Gift packing is available for ALL purchases, not just 750 ml. Also asking for an extra brown paper bag or two is totally allowed. We will look into it.

The CSR was completely right to deny you service. As per our TOS, that can be found in each and every store, we hold the right to refuse service is no ID is produced, not only to the person who has no ID, but the entire party who is shopping with the person in question., as it is possible that alcohol can be provided to minors.

Greetings,
Did you know it is illegal in Ontario for anyone under the age of 19 to handle alcohol in a LCBO store? This principal applies to your situation. Unless you can verify age, our CRS assume the person handling the product is underage and is not allowed to sell to anyone in the group, even if you have ID, since this is considered a second party purchase.
Corporate social responsibility is a key element of the LCBO’s mandate and has been since its inception in 1927. As part of our responsible service program, LCBO Retail employees demonstrate their vigilance in preventing sales to minors, those who appear intoxicated or those attempting to shop for either of those individuals every day. LCBO also has a number of initiatives encouraging responsible consumption and help prevent impaired driving. In this case the CSR made a mistake, this does happen.
The ultimate goal of the LCBO is to meet and surpass customer expectations while serving customers with disabilities. Comments on our services regarding how well those expectations are being met are welcomed and appreciated. Feedback regarding the way LCBO provides goods and services to people with disabilities can be made by contacting: Phone: helloLCBO/alloLCBO Contact Centre - [protected]
Greetings,
Masks are mandatory for all staff, but under certain exceptions, a mask does not have to be worn. Such as a medical issue etc.
Unless this was approved my management, this staff member could simply be ignoring a by-law.
I strongly suggest contacting our help line at hellolcbo.com and reporting this.
I truly apologise for the way you were treated.
Greetings,
This is required at ALL LCBO locations to verify age. If you choose not too, you simply will not be served. You will not be fined for taking it off, or pulling it down for a few seconds.
If you have any more questions, please contact hellolcbo.com
Greetings,
This sounds like a fix term employee. These are additional staff hired during peak sales times. ETC Summer, or Christmas. They are not as fully knowledgeable as our full time staff. But to be fair, most staff would not be able to answer the question you posed, and the only items that usually expire are beer. Beer is usually sold long before that time comes. If you are so concerned about expire dates, perhaps contact the specific company directly.
Any other questions? Please contact hellolcbo.com
As COVID-19 continues to progress, health and safety remains top of mind for us all. We are following the direction of public health officials to limit the effect COVID-19 may have on our valued employees and customers.
We are committed to transparency in communicating with our employees and the public. We are providing updates as we become aware of confirmed cases. Click here for details. When we are informed of confirmed cases, we will take appropriate action immediately, which includes temporarily closing the store for additional deep cleaning, contacting all impacted employees, and connecting with local Public Health officials. Should we receive additional direction from officials including specific notification required to our customers, we will act immediately and accordingly.
Store Hours
We’re expanding our hours at 360 stores, starting May 14.
Select LCBO locations will now be open from 10 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, while others will continue their reduced schedule of 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Most stores remain open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.
All locations are closed on Mondays.
As this situation evolves, some LCBO stores may need to close without notice, or adjust their hours and/or days of operation.
LCBO Convenience Outlets authorised to sell beverage alcohol are privately owned and business hours may vary.
Changes to the Shopping Experience
The LCBO has been adopting measures to protect staff and customers including:
Increased cleaning and sanitization in our stores and warehouses.
*Managing traffic flow within our stores via security to avoid crowding and marking points within the stores as guidance for staying recommended distances apart.*
Plexiglass barriers at cash desks across our retail network.
Providing face shields for LCBO retail staff to wear while serving customers to protect their eyes, mouth and nose and to help deter unnecessary touching of the face.
As part of our Responsible Service Program, we have policies and procedures in place and in accordance with the law for the purposes of checking ID and public intoxication before serving customers. Thank you for your understanding and for removing your mask safely if requested to do so while visiting our stores.
Priority Access for Healthcare Workers
We are proud to join the retail industry’s appreciation of healthcare workers during COVID-19 by offering priority access within our retail stores.
Healthcare workers (which include all employees from hospitals, health care facilities, and paramedics) who present official photo identification of their role will be invited to take their place at the front of any line up outside of LCBO stores.
How You Can Help
These actions do not take the place of preventative measures recommended by public health officials. Help us keep everyone safe by doing the following:
Do not shop if you are ill or should be self-isolating
Plan your trip by making a list.
If you can, shop alone.
Practice physical distancing and adhere to traffic flow markers throughout the store.
Whenever possible, pay with debit or credit to reduce handling of cash.
Pack your own reusable bag
Changes to the Shopping Experience
The LCBO has measures in place to protect staff and customers including:
• Requiring customers to wear face coverings in all LCBO stores unless they meet a provincial legislated exemption. Please plan ahead and bring your own mask; LCBO will not be providing masks.
• Increased cleaning and sanitization in our stores and warehouses.
• Managing traffic flow within our stores to avoid crowding and marking points within the stores as guidance for staying recommended distances apart.
• Plexiglass barriers at cash desks across our retail network.
• As part of our Responsible Service Program, we have policies and procedures in place and in accordance with the law for the purposes of checking ID and public intoxication before serving customers. Thank you for your understanding and for removing your mask safely if requested to do so while visiting our stores.
We will continue to update our customers about any operational changes. Remember, the team at hellolcbo@lcbo.com is always available to help with any questions or information.
As we are in uncertain times, and we usually wish that shoppers use our carts or baskets, it seems the guard on duty at this time is following old store rules, and does not understand that customers my prefer to not touch carts or baskets. A guard does not have the right to ban any valued customer unless they actually do something wrong, and even then only at the direction of the manager of the store.
IN this situation, I suggest calling the store manager directly, or if you prefer the team at hellolcbo@lcbo.com is always available to help with any questions or information.
