Who told you that dishwasher would last 20+ years? Do you have that in writing? All of us would love to buy an appliance that is guaranteed for two decades. Is your car guaranteed for that long as well? Nothing, i repeat nothing lasts as long as products made 20 or 30 years ago. Its a trade off people. Not a rip off. They are more efficient, more recyclable, and make a smaller impact on the environment. Be thankful that they are offering you something. If a frayed wire in my 8 year old car starts a fire, i go to my insurance company - not the manufacturer. When you bought the appliance, they gave you a warranty.a
