I’m about to finish my prison term here. Not even kidding. If your looking for a great education then you need to look somewhere else. My experience has been disastrous. They make it look SO good on the tour but the nightmare starts right away. Staff is changing constantly, not experienced and do not know what they are doing. OMG, their the ones you learn from? Drama on a daily basis. What does the staff do? Tell you to deal with it. No lie. This is what you are paying for along with lots of trouble getting aid, and also help to find housing was just useless.
And yes, there are few favorites and you are totally screwed if you aren’t one of them. Now I worry if I go for the state board if I will pass it and I spent too much money here.
I could write a lot longer but you should get my point. Other students are posting a lot here too, please read each post & make a good choice if you’re a student or a client. Learn from me who did it the hard way and don’t rush. Be smart and take your time to find the best education.
I can totally agree the Paul Mitchell School in Modesto California is the same . They dropped me after missing too many days after I caught covid19 they made me hate the beauty industry.

Exactly what this girl is talking about is the post in reply prior to myself.. I went to a Paul Mitchell school and it is exactly what she says it is.. Brown nosing is exactly what you MU, ST do there to get anywhere.. if that even works. I've seen people get bullied by staff favorites and when they brought it to the staffs attention they did absolutely nothing. not because they couldn't but because they didn't want to.. when people are gossiping and in the contract you sign says you will be expelled if you do so and these girls don't.. why is that? I also know of a few girls who excelled at certain aspects in pmts systems and they actually got jobs and had to be taught all over again because they weren't taught right the first time.. Paul Mitchell schools was the biggest waste of money ever! They can keep their culture and shove it up their ###.. its a brainwashing system to take your eyes off what's really going on... why do you think they classify people? Visionaries, fence sitters, and resistors? With proper coaching everyone can be a "visionary" that's wrong to hold people to segregated groups based on one persons. judgement
Read the complaints! One person's judgement? There are yes of thousands of complaints against Paul Mitchell Schools against the instructors... Do no go to a PAUL MITCHELL SCHOOL. MY 2 INCH TRIM BECAME AN 11 INCH PERSONAL INJURY CHARGE AGAINST THE INSTRUCTOR! PLUS MANY MORE CHARGES
There are close to 100 Paul Mitchell Schools, nationwide. They all have unique idiosyncrasies. It is impossible to judge an entire nation of schools on one person’s experience, especially when they do not include their specific location. It is inevitable that every school, no matter the focus, will have some people who do not enjoy their experience. I would really take the time to tour the schools you are interested in, and take the time to talk to the people in the school. The teachers, students, directors, guests… speak to whomever you can. Every school has a unique culture; find one that you fit into. I have personally spent time in a Paul Mitchell School. And, even though I am not part of their company, I was treated like family and felt very welcome in their culture. Don’t let one person’s bad experience make you miss the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful culture!
