Ordered a muffler based on the website's confirmation the part would fit my vehicle and their ads stating "100% fitment guaranteed". I received the part and took it to a shop. When the technician went to install it, they said it wouldn't fit. PartsAvatar would not take it back because it had been 'installed'. Muffler rattled on the heat shield constantly. The part did not fit my vehicle. Because they would not accept the return I had to spend an extra $250 get it modified so it wouldn't damage the vehicle. After weeks of communicating with their customer service - through email only - trying to hold them to their guarantee their final "goodwill gesture" offer was $15.
They sold me a part under false pretences and refuse to accept responsibility.
The included photos show the modifications required in order to get the muffler to fit and not damage my vehicle. I have an audio file I recorded when driving to the shop for modifications but am unable to upload (error).
Claimed loss: $250
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and repayment of the $250 extra I had to pay to make the part fit.
