Car with low mileage has locks that have failed. Was told that I would need to pay almost $3,000 to fix the issue. Uploading the estimate as well. It's unbelievable that this isn't either a recall or covered by warranty.

In November , I bought my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 from Oakbrook Toyota. They sold me a warranty that covers 36 months or 36,000 miles. At the time of purchase, the truck had 110,890 miles. Now it has 125,000 miles. On January 16, I had some mechanical issues and contacted the dealer. They asked me to bring it in for inspection. I had my truck towed to them, but then they told me to drop it off at a different location because they don't work on my type of truck. The tow truck took it to the location they specified. When they contacted me with the problem, they said the engine wasn't working and that they would contact the insurance to proceed. Kevin from service at Oakbrook Toyota called me and said the insurance inspector claimed that someone had already opened my engine, so they wouldn't fix it (even though nobody had opened it). According to the insurance, any mechanical problems should be covered as long as it's within the warranty period. I don't know how to fix engines, which is why I reached out to them after reading my insurance and contract papers. They're refusing to fix my truck, despite what the insurance says. I'm not asking for a new car, just for my truck to be repaired. I've been making my monthly payments on time, so they shouldn't let me down. I hope they're not refusing to help me because I'm Hispanic. I've been without a car for a while now, and with the pandemic, it's difficult to get to work, buy groceries, or take my family anywhere important.
