NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA] gas outage

Good afternoon. My name is Veronica Jones and I am contacting you regarding the gas outage that has been occurring in the Taylor Wythe Housing Development since August 21, 2019. The address of the outage is 51 Ross Street the entire C-line Brooklyn, New York 11249. Friday November, 15th tenants were asked to provide access to their apartments from 8am-6pm so hired outside contractors could begin work. The contractors cut a hole from ceiling to floor then said they have to come back Monday. Today different contractors came looked at the hole and said that it was stupid of the other contractor to do so. He then took a piece of pipe out the wall @11:30pm and left the wall open stating he would return. I had to call the manager and ask her what is going on because he never came back. While speaking to her the contractor who cut the hole in the wall came back at 3:30pm stating if he cannot get into other people's apartments then they cannot come back to me. I am a city employee an I'm tired of spending money having to purchase food outside as well as being told we will not get any type of reimbursement for having to do so. Im wasting days unable to go to work, losing time for this lackadaisical job that is going on. We need your assistance in getting this work order done in a more timely an appropriate fashion.

NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA] noise from upstairs neighbor

Tenant at 8E 418 W. 17th St. Is constantly slamming her entrance door after 9pm. If she isn't slamming doors in her apartment, she is tapping her cain on the floor, which is my ceiling and it is so annoying and frustrating. She also pounds on something in her apartment, pound, pound, its irritating. So I tell my management off about this and they tell me she had been called in the office and denies everything, that I have discussed with them, so now it's my word against hers which is also frustrating cause the problem is left unsolved. Management office requested social services to help solve the issue, but 8E won't answer her phone the letter they sent her. I believe 8E tenant should be reprimanded for not complying with social services, but I doubt this had happened cause the noise continues every night. I have call the police, but they don't come out for noise at night. So where do I go from here ? There has to be a solution to this problem.

NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA] wilson houses management office receptionist

I'm submitting a complaint against wilson houses management office staff (receptionist) kelly. She is very rude to tenants. Staff is never available to help. Staff is on onsite until 7pm on wednesday's and refuse to work or help you understand what might be going on with your rent. Many tenants like myself work and it's hard to make it to the office mon-friday from 830-12pm. That's ridiculous they take your paperwork it never make it to your file. This has to stop but most of all that receptionist kelly is super rude and when working in customer service you need to know and understand how to deal with the public. I will be voicing this to my district borough office as well because this is unacceptable. If the management doors are open until 7pm one day a week why not see the working tenants. It's hard taking days off going in late because nycha want their money every month right. This has to get better because it's getting worst.

NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA] Bathroom

On May 28th 2019, I place a ticket of repair for the bathroom in my elderly's mother apartment. I was told that within a few weeks someone would contact her for a follow-up appt. Towards the end of June I visit the office and was advised that a follow up was in progress.
The first week of August I advised my daughter to call to see what the status was and she stated she was told someone would come to visit the following week. It is now Aug. 28th and no clarity on the issue has been reach. I called housing and spoke to an young lady named Destiny, who appeared to be the receptionist. She gave me the ticket number ([protected]) and said that plastering is needed and is done by an outside company and that I should address my concerns to them. I followed up by calling the number (718-495-4000) reaching an individual who stated "Plasters are not on the premises". The bathroom of my mothers apartment are in poor conditions that prohibits her from attending her daily living in an applicable state. Help!

NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA] water damage in apt un resolved for months

Six months ago I moved into a Nycha apartment in 70 West 91st st. Since I moved in the kitchen has been falling apart. Water damage on the floor rotting the wood and on the 6 ft wide across the kitchen wall. Plaster has been falling off, mold growing and painting peeling. All things that can be hazardous to someones health especially someone who has asthma. I have put in tickets and for months they have been waiting for contractors to accept them. Brick layers were suppose to come and never did. Since I moved in I have yet to have people over because it is embarrassing to show them the conditions I have been made to live. The conditions are only getting worse everyday.

The resolution needed is to have bricklayers come and fix the side of the building, roofers come to seal all cracks causing leaks on the roof, my walls need to be plastered brands new to remove mold and water damage. My Floor needs to have the tiles removed and the rotting wood underneath to be redone by carpenters.

I am a fulltime college students and I work part time. I've basically paid my rent every month for poor customer service and an apt that triggers my health problems.

NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA] kitchen sink stove and electrical outlets

Beginning March 23rd ( approximately) I began to notice water under stove and in front of stove. I requested a ticket for repair. I was out of town however my daughter remained in the residence. Maintenance on Tuesday March 27th, moved the stove and made 2 holes to check for leaks. They stated they saw nothing and stated they would check the 9th floor apartment and told my daughter to remove all items from cabinets and under the sink and would return. But they did not return. I spoke with Housing assistant, who stated that there were open kitchen repair tickets in my record. At this time the water in the kitchen has become worse reaching the living room and damaging kitchen tiles. Due to their lack of response I called housing emergency which told me that they would respond within 24 hours. However, the water continued to gush out of the pipes behind the stove and out of fear that this could cause an electrical fire I called the fire department on July7th. The fire department had to cut off my gas line and called Con Edison to determine the severity of the damage to electrical outlet and stove. To date maintenance on July 8th removed kitchen cabinets and sink, opened the walls, to inspect pipe leaks. Plumber came July 10th but has not completed job. The leaks continue. I am unable cook or use my kitchen in any way. I suffer from asthma and have mold allergies as does my grandson. I have called many times to housing and Boro and no one has responded to my concerns about this matter. Any questions please email or call. Email is [protected]@aol.com or [protected] .Thank you!

NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA] bathroom ceiling falling/ transfer

Let's let's start off with the leaking ceiling that is invading my bathroom for a whooping 1 1/2 . So some time at the beginning of the year I put in a complaint about my ceiling that was leaking, at the time I didn't know where it was from. So they came in May 2019 and fixed it. Literally not a day after they ceiling gets wet AGAIN and I go up to the neighbor directly above from me and ask is there water on her floor. He husband comes to the door and goes and checks and said nonchalantly "sorry my child spilled SOME water on the floor I'll handle it" and closes the door in my face. Went back downstairs and I called hosing real quick put in a ticket told her what the problem was I stated that the PEOPLE above don't watch the children letting them splash water on the floor like. Who leaves their child unattended while they are in the bathroom no less. I know they are small because they get stuff stuck in the toilet as well and have the pipe that is directly over my toilet leaking too many times to count. Now here is my 2nd compliment I put in a medical request transfer because I have SLE (Lupus) and Sjogrens Syndrome, a heart condition, a major stroke and blood clots in my legs. The elevator keeps breaking down (both of them) I am left to go up the stairs which once this past year has left me with a PE (Pulmonary Embolism) which is a blood clot in my lungs for 3 days before I was discharged home and the PE was STILL in my lungs. I put in a medical transfer so they gave me so place in upper Manhattan I called it not once not twice but three times to schedule an appointment to look at the Apt no one got back to me. Before I ever got a call back I received notification in the mail talking about bed bugs from floor 2-7 I was like hell no. I tried to get in contact with the lady handling the transfer to no avail yet again so I am stuck with medical issues and breaking down apt due to HOUSING NEGLIGENCE about my medical issues and niegbors who don't know how to control their children. So I'm basically stuck in a hell hole because you failed to get me a transfer where they actually pick up the phone. Oh and I ALMOST forgot I took my 19 year old off a few months ago and they refuse to do so because I showed proof she is in college and can no longer afford the "high " rent and they know I am on disability and they still keeping it high. If this isn't messed up I don't know what is my rent used to me 352. It skipped the 400's not its 557 like where?
