My husband was transported from Marana fire station by ambulance to Northwest hospital on 05-14-23 for chest pain we where there for approx 4 hours his bed was covered with blood not from him. It was the most discussing thing to see my husband laying on. My head was laying on that rail I've been sick since I have had a cough and was taken to the hospital at twin peeks for a severe headache around 230 am on the 18th.

When you go on-line you are able to make an "appointment" for this ER. I made my appointment and waited an hour to make my way over there. Once there I noticed they were taking everyone who came in after me while leaving me sitting there. When I asked what they take everyone while I sit there well past my "appointment" time I was told they do not honor...

Northwest Medical Center Urinalysis performed and not mine

I was seen by NP on Thursday Sept 29 for intermittent post-menopausal spotting and yellow discharge..

NO wanted to perform a pap which I advised my regular Gyn does my paps and I am in to date in those, No stated “let’s do one anyway since you are here.” (Obviously she did it to get money), during exam she said she saw yellow discharge and I asked her to do cultures, she said no she didn’t feel cultures were necessary! I’m shocked! Thursday October 13th NP MA calls and says pap WNL, and UA is fine, I advised I never left a urine sample, MA says, “you did bcuz we have the results, you probably forgot.” I advised I never left a urine sample at that office, I asked if I should to the NP and she said no “2 different holes!” MA confined to say it is my urine result, I advised what they did is unethical and poor medical practice as they ran someone else’s urine as mine and to expunge it from my record, and don’t bill me for it! I then left a

Message for practice manager who has never called me! I called my insurance and they were appalled by this and told me

To file fraud charges for billing a test to my insurance that was not performed in my urine but on someone else’s!

I want this addressed as it’s horrible that this office did this and that the NP pushed a Pap test that did not need to be done, and then ran a UA on someone else’s urine and tested it as mine!

Desired outcome: Notify my insurance to dismiss charge as errorDo not bill me as it’s not my test resultExpunge UA result from my record as it’s not my urine

Northwest Medical Center Emergency services received

Date of service: 9.23.2020

Patient : Shelly S.

Dob: Aug ----, 1960

PA who treated: Heather F.

Chief complaint:

No bowel movement for over 30 days, with mild pain.

She was taken back to get vitals quickly upon our visit, nothing came of that, so I assumed that they were normal, however after looking at the notes it would appear she had an abnormal or low blood pressure. When we were called back we went to the back room and waited for quite sometime before being seen. The PA that saw us asked a few different questions and examined my mother. I gave her a brief medical history and events leading up to our visit. Bipolar disorder, pulmonary embolism, depression etc. The concern whether or not she had been eating came up, however I mentioned that she had a full meal in her belly 2 days prior (21st) at my house in which she ate 2 large chicken tostadas, rice and an ice-cream cone. I also let her know that she has been on stool softeners for 3 days prior to our visit. The PA asked when was the last bowel movement. My mom said over 30 days ago. She asked if she passed anything at all even the smallest amount… and she said she passed 1 piece of stool the size of a rabbit’s stool over a week ago. She then did a short physical examination palpating the abdomen in which she squirmed when the PA touched her side. I was in the room for this and remember her reaction to this examination and I felt that my mom has something severe going on to be in that amount of pain upon palpating her side. We wanted to rule out a bowel obstruction so the PA ordered an x-ray. After reviewing the discharge notes it was in fact a CT workup. The results showed very mild constipation with gallstones. We were given a script for an over the counter stool softener (which she already had been taking for 3 days) and to follow up with a gastro specialist. (we had tried multiple offices to make an appointment the day prior to our visit, but the earliest availability was 2 weeks out and she said she couldn’t make it that long which is why we came to the ER) In our entire visit we were never asked to test her blood or her urine. I couldn’t believe the findings and to be honest I was a little frustrated with my mom that she made me come down there for 6 hours with her while the doctors found no obstruction. I almost felt like she was making it up in her head, but I think given the events that transpired afterwards, she in fact was not making it up and was in need of serious medical attention. Testing her urine or blood may have saved her life. I personally feel that she had another PE (blood clot) which effected her bowels someway and slowly made its way to the heart or lungs or brain. Or more than likely she was having a complication from Myxedema as her thyroid was not checked and was left untreated for years. Perhaps more testing would have been the answer, but looking at my mom’s previous medical history it is easy to just write her off that it was all in her head, and I hope that that was not the case with the doctors supervising my mother’s situation that night. Looking at her charts from NW shows that her TSH was tested 1 year prior and was under a 0.005 level but nothing was done for her. She most likely passed from Myxedema as the only meaningful abnormality of the autopsy were nodules in the Thyroid. NW docs and Nursed dropped the ball here knowing she had no primary care doctor at the time, and such low blood pressure, and a severe history of unhealthy thyroid levels.

Desired outcome: I would like a response from supervisors and I want to be sure the PA who treated my mom is educated on what to look for next time a similar situation walks in the door. We sure miss my mom a lot.

Northwest Medical Center Patient treatment

I’m currently admitted in the hospital at norwest medical center in Margate, Fl. I’m in a lot of pain. The doctor gave me a pain pill that isn’t working. I told the nurse, she called the Doctor and the doctor refused to give me something else for pain. I’m very uncomfortable and in pain. This is not how you treat a patient. This is awful

Desired outcome: I’d appreciate a response and this problem to be resolved.

Northwest Medical Center Hospital staff

This hospital should be closed permanently. Most incompetent staff I have ever seen. They treat patients like animals. It took them 3 days to give my mother ice chips and water. They had no idea she was diabetic. They regularly give the wrong trays of food. Give meds w no water. Rude as hell to the patients. Zero communication about what is wrong w people.

Please shut this hospital down before people die from their incompetence. It’s beyond terrible it’s dangerous !

Do not send your loved ones here !

Desired outcome: Shut the hospital down

Very poor experience overall. Doctors do not discuss condition of your loved one unless you track them down. Aides definitely run the show at this facility. Too much conflicting information when you do get some. Only saw nurse when meds are due too many complaints to write down here. Nursing technique poor too. Staff nurse admits she is overwhelmed while taking care of my mother and is training a NEW orientee. I had to point out very obvious problems to the nursing staff several times. I did not feel comfortable leaving mom there whenever I left. Send your loved ones to a hospital that is competent! Poor nursing technique!

Northwest Medical Center Front Desk Service

Where should I even start, the hospital's director Irene Benitas was absolutely awful. She was extremely unprofessional, rude, disgusting there are other words to describe her but I will refrain myslef. On top of that, the woman at the front desk I believe her name is Sam, is extremely unprofessional and doesn't fit the role of "front desk" well at all. She refused to explain anything and sent us on our way with absolutely no help whatsoever. We were supposed to have a life changing procedure after losing our son to medical malpractice and no one in that hospital seems to care about anything aside from a paycheck. The reviews and terrible ratings suit this hospital, nothing but a bunch of money hungry doctor who could care less about their patients.

Desired outcome: A new hospital director/front desk worker who both have more knowledge and compassion

Northwest Medical Center Oro Valley Medical Center

My mother is a Cronic smoker who had knee surgery. She is now on her 3rd surgery trying to clear infections most likely caused by Cronic smoking before & after surgery. I called the nurses station to check her wellbeing and I simply asked the nurse "does she have any outside access smoke"? the nurse told me with a smug attitude "She is an adult and she can smoke if she wants to"! rushing me off the phone. 100%. My mother is at high risk to lose her leg because of horrible infections caused by smoking, the misconduct by the unprofessional nursing staff clearly shows they do not care about the patients' wellbeing or concerned family members. Horrible place with unprofessional misconduct from the nursing staff!

Desired outcome: Apology from the nurse caring for my mother who spoke to me that way

Northwest Medical Center Hospital services

I pulled up in their emergency room with chest pain and nobody was there to help me. I honked my horn several times and nobody came out. I finally walked in there and then a woman told me that the person who supposed to help isn't there for a few more hours. I begged her to park my car and she finally did. Then, the nursing staff on the floor that I'm on, sixth floor, was terrible. Nobody checked on me for many hours and then I got very sick in the middle of the night and the nursing assistant was very rude and asked why I did not throw up into a bin. I didn't have a bin to throw up and I told her and she was very rude and resentful that she had to clean up my vomit. And to make matters worse, they're just discharging me with no explanation as to what is going on with me. I don't even have the courtesy of seeing a doctor. Some doctor I've never even met has discharged me. I don't even get to ask any questions or hear what's wrong. This has been the worst medical experience of my life. I will never return to this hospital. They should be shut down.

Desired outcome: They really need to improve.

Northwest Medical Center ER

Understaffed, incompetent, money hungry environment. Spent five hours in ER. Doctor on duty is 12 years old and doesn't know If she is coming or going, CT scan, EXRAY, blood work, urine test, Covid 19 test and no diagnosis: Flank Pain, uncertain cause. Physician on duty Bernard Steele MIA, Practitioner Dayana Samson clueless, nurse Daniel P. Excellent, accommodating and helpful.
Result: two pain meds and visit to my doctor.
Five hours and probably $4000.00 in billable "SERVICES".

Northwest Medical Center ER Services

My wife was at the ER on 3/13/2021 at around midnight. While she was there, the night nurse that inserted the IV, did not insert it correctly. When the wife tried to tell the other night nurse about it, he said he would be back in a minute. He never returned to be told about it. When the CT Tech came in, my wife told him about it and told him that it was hurting, he said that it could be if it was inserted near a nerve. It was not checked at all. Only when he was inserting the contrast, he found out that it was not installed correctly. The IV was never even tried to be reinserted so that the CT scan could be performed. The night PA, it seemed to me, that they did not want to do their job as nurses or doctors. This COVID-19 has gotten them so scared that they don't want to touch anyone. They as health care professionals should be more caring to do their job. They should already have had the shot being healthcare professionals but it seems that they have not by the way they were acting. After I left, my wife told them she needed to go to the bathroom. She has not walked in about 2 months with the issue that she went to the ER for. They expected her to get up and go by herself. She got NO help even when a bedside commode was put by the bed. The male nurse acted as though he did not want to touch her. Bad nursing in my opinion. All doctors and nurses took an oath to be caring and help people. I guess that went out the window!

Desired outcome: Have a letter put in their file. Maybe go back to nursing school.

This stems from an extension of a contract that I signed a few weeks ago. The only reason I signed an extension so I could bring my son with me. I was told that I could get a reimbursement which I never really have seen. They will not even ask for the receipt. They are even so bold as to ask me for the accomodations that they were paying for which I came...
