Public BBB Complaint
My Nextdoor account was suspended without a substantive explanation of the specific conduct or policy violation that resulted in the action.
The suspension occurred shortly after I used Nextdoor's reporting tools to report activity that appeared suspicious, including substantially similar postings appearing under multiple accounts. I made the reports in good faith. Shortly thereafter, my account was suspended.
Since then, I have contacted Nextdoor repeatedly requesting an explanation, identification of the policy allegedly violated, and an opportunity to appeal or provide supporting information. Despite multiple attempts over several weeks, I have received no substantive response.
The suspension has also prevented me from accessing and administering two legitimate business pages associated with my account, creating an ongoing business impact. I have specifically raised this issue with Nextdoor but have received no meaningful assistance.
I can still access a separate Nextdoor advertising account associated with one of the businesses, making the continued inability to access the related business pages particularly confusing.
I recognize Nextdoor's right to enforce its platform policies. My complaint is about the lack of transparency, meaningful customer support, and reasonable appeal process, particularly where an account suspension also restricts access to established business pages.
Requested Resolution: I am asking Nextdoor to conduct a substantive review, identify the specific basis for the suspension, provide a meaningful opportunity to appeal, and restore access to my business pages. If Nextdoor intends to maintain the suspension, I am requesting a clear explanation of the decision and a process for recovering or administering the affected business pages.
I attempted repeatedly to resolve this directly with Nextdoor before filing this complaint.
