Nail Palace – Misleading and aggressive pressure sales tactics

On 28th June 2023, My Manicurist claimed that my finger & toenails are having fungal nail infections. hence concluding that I am required to do the entire set of anti-fungal, nail solution & purifying treatments. She also mentioned that the fungus is causing my cuticles to be dry, hence also concluding that I am required to do the nail mask treatment as well.

I was hesitant to try due to the hefty price tag, but she persuaded me to try out 1 time to see the results. Thereafter when settling the payment, she said that 1 session would not yield much-desired results, Minimum sessions range from 12 - 20 sessions...amounting to $20K. I was overwhelmed by the amount, I could not commit to that many sessions, so she reduced the sessions to 6...she then provided me with installment payment arrangements with Shopback & Atome knowing that I had no credit card with me.

I was super stressed mentally & financially, thinking I had my nails under fungus infections that I did not know of, and the high cost of treating it...the bill added up to $5657.88

On my 2nd visit on  15th Aug 2023, another pair of manicurists said the fungal infections had spread to my fingernails, I would require to add on  the same treatment for my fingernails, they use exactly the same sales tactics, Try 1 time when payment, they will say need more sessions to yield results, if only 1 time, will be the ala-carte price which will cost more., so the add on package amt snowballed to $$3855.60

In the 2 sessions of nail services, I incur a total bill of $9512.88 for 6 sessions of nail service.

Honestly, the fungus treatment is like kids' play, I paid $388 for a fungal treatment that applies a little bit of medicine on my nails & wrapped them in aluminum foil.

I felt really scammed big time.

I went to consult a doctor on my nail fungus infections on 21st August 2023, The Doctor reviewed me and said I do not have any signs/symptoms of fungal nail infections.

I only went in with the intentions of a simple manicure...end up I have $10K bill for nail services
