Mister Car Wash review: Property damage

I went through the Mister car wash at the NM-528 Location (2421 NM-528 Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124, 505-404-9141) on 6/14/2026, just before 14:03 MDT. An attendant helped me select a wash and pay for my wash. It was a Platinum wash. I told them that I had never been there before and didn't know how the process worked. I drive a 2006 Subaru Forester (License plate # RZ167, VIN JF1SG65636G730446) with a large Thule 615 Pulse Rack cargo carrier attached to a factory roof rack with factory cross bars. The attendant didn't warn me that the cargo carrier could be an issue. After paying and before entering the car wash, there's a sign that says that Mister isn't responsible for a list of potential property damage issues. However, there are no details about vehicle clearance by which I could check to see if my car could potentially be damaged. I also did not notice a way out other than entering the car wash. There's an attendant where your car goes onto the rail that pulls you through; that attendant did not warn me that my cargo carrier could be a potential issue either. At the last piece of machinery, I heard the roller catch the cargo carrier. There was nothing that I could do to stop my vehicle from incurring further damage. The roller ripped my roof rack cross bars off of my roof rails, and ripped my cargo carrier of the cross bars. Both are irreparably damaged. An attendant named Alex recorded an incident statement (#NM-0396-26-018635) and gave me a card for the manager: Carlos Briones (505-890-1064, ext. 1). They offered free car wash passes, which I declined, and told me that there was nothing else they could do. I tried multiple times to upload images to this complaint, and it failed over 10 times in at least 5 different ways, so I gave up.
