Master Card — Could not register the mastercard debit gift card

I have been trying to register this gift card for a month, it does not have the card number in the system and also, I need to speak to a live person the automated system does not help i need answers please.I tried to use it at a Home Depot got to the register the cashier says you have to actvicate it on line I did that last month and a number of times this month, now it has expired i am not happy about losing money it would nice if you all can repalce the gift card.
