In February I went in for an introductory $39.00 massage. After the massage, I was greeted with a high pressure sales pitch on becoming a Massage Envy member. At first I said no and told her that a year was to long of a duration for me and that I wont use massages each and every month. She then told me that a Health Savings Account, in which I have would cover my monthly charges. So I agreed. After leaving, my sister who was with me at the time, told me that she also signed up, but only for 6 months. A few days later, I called Massage Envy and spoke with the Manager regarding my experience/mis-guidance. He assured me that their goal is to not be pushy and be very informative about their memberships. I told him that my Health Savings Account would not cover my massages because it was not Dr.'s ordered. So, he kindly reduced my membership to 3 months that I would have to pay out of pocket. Well, today... I called a different location to make an appointment for my Husband and I, and was told that I have NO prepaid massages. I told them that I had prepaid March-May and that I had only used one and should now have two. They continued to tell me I had no prepaid massages. The girl advised me to call the Covington location where I signed up for membership and find out what was going on with my account. So, I called and spoke with the same gentleman I spoke to back in Feb. This time, he was a jerk. A complete jerk. He told me that my account was canceled in May and that my massages were cleared from my account as of May 31st. When I first signed up for the membership, I was told I would recieve written notice of when my massages would expire. I have NEVER recieved any communication from them via mail, phone or email. Nor was I ever told that my massages would expire as of May 31st. I told him that I was very frustrated and that this whole membership experience was nothing but frustrating and misleading and he simply said "Well I'm sorry, have a nice night".
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Seems to be the common practices with this company. The same thing happened to me but they got me for over 500.00. I'm calling my lawyer and all the news stations to put a stop to this company!
