Litfad review: Office furniture

I moved into a new office space in April 2023, and I ordered two desks and two executive office chairs from this company because they were so reasonably priced and looked so beautiful on the website.

They pretend they're in London, England, but they're actually out of China, so the order took almost two months to get here. When the first pieces arrived, they were in battered shipping boxes wrapped in plastic wrap to keep them together. The chairs arrived first, when I opened the first one, the assembly instructions were missing, and the hardware was damaged and packaged in dirty plastic bags or red grocery store bags - not on cards, so it was obviously used. The parts and pieces were also dirty and damaged so I immediately emailed (because you can't call them) to complain that they sent me used furniture and get a refund. Once you take delivery from these clowns, you can't return anything, so I refused delivery of the desks in case they were in the same used condition. They charged me for the desks anyway and it took months of negotiations with American Express to get my money back (I eventually got all of it refunded in October).

I asked repeatedly for a return address to send the items to, but they kept saying, once you take delivery you can’t return anything. They offered me a 10% discount to keep them, which I refused. So be careful if you order anything from LitFad because once you take delivery, you’re stuck with it unless you use an AMEX card for the purchase. The return policy does say you can return the goods if they are damaged, but I guess their idea of damage doesn’t cover “used”. As it turned out, the guy that took over my old office also ordered furniture from here and had the same problem and boy do I wish I’d asked him earlier.

One star because I can’t go any lower, but this company produces very low-quality furnishings at above average prices (compared to the quality) and then refuses to take responsibility for their work. Don’t do it, it’s all garbage and won’t look anything like the website images. If you do make the mistake of ordering from LitFad, make sure you take lots of pictures and keep all of the email chains with “support” (lol) so you have the evidence you need for your credit card company to get your money back. Kudos to AMEX for getting mine back!
