My boyfriend and I bought into the 3-4 bedroom villa in Oct. 2018. We went to the Punta Canta resort in 2019 expecting the promised VIP status. We got anything but VIP service. Expecting to be in a villa, we were put into a 1 bedroom mediocre suite that was no where's near VIP. Our room was on the 2nd floor, facing the back side of the resort overlooking an alley and the resort next door when there were at least 50 vacant suites on the 1st level near the pool and as many on the upper level overlooking the beach. When they attempted to upgrade us from gold status to platinum mm and we refused, in the presence of a room full of potential victims, we asked for the free gifts that we were promised to us, for listening to their pitch (which we did not get) we were practically thrown out of the Chairman Circle. So much for VIP status. If you don't upgrade, you are tossed aside.
