After 8 months of owning the new Lexus , my battery just died. No warning, no indication anything was wrong. Contacted Lexus Service center who was willing to pay to have it towed to the nearest dealer 95 miles away. They arranged for AAA to do the towing and the driver showed up in a timely manner. He was more than willing to do the tow, but commented that many newer cars have so many computers in them that they do a trickle drain on the battery. He thought this might be my case, so he jumped it and I ran it for over an hour. He suggests to people to run their cars for about 30 minutes every other day to keep the battery charged. An internet search claims that Lexus recommends running the vehicle for an hour each week-SOMETHING THAT NO ONE EVER TELLS YOU! My whole service call could have been avoided and the 2 hours it took to find the corrected issue was a waste of my time, Seems like Lexus should tell this to their customers.
