My experience with LegalMatch was unpleasant. Despite my numerous pleas to be removed from their contact list, LegalMatch keeps in contacting me and my firm, leaving me with no choice but to share my negative experience with them.

LegalMatch created a huge burden on me as a young attorney and I greatly regret using their services. Even though I utilized their software the best I could and had a great response time for new leads, I had a hard time obtaining any satisfactory leads. I was trapped in my contract, despite dismal results after 6 months, and could not get out without paying money I did not have. Not only did I receive inadequate support throughout the entirety of the term, but my case manager went missing for several months, failing to respond to my inquiries. The costs for their services for my contract were the equivalent of several consult fees per month. In my experience, most if not all LegalMatch leads were expecting discounted rates and were unwilling to pay a consult fee.

But for the character limit I could go on, but overall, I would advise you avoid the frustration and LegalMatch altogether.

If it were possible to enter a negative star (below zero), that is how I would rate LegalMatch's lawyer who did nothing to represent me in court. NOTHING! I presented my case to the judge, who frankly wasted my time. I still have the same tenant problem, however, the problems with him have escalated to include being arrested for maintaining a drug house on my property and identity theft. I will never recommend this company to anyone. If they had any decency, they would return the money I wasted on their "lawyer" service. Horrible experience. I did ask the lawyer to refund at least half of the money and she did. It would be better if the company would pay back the remainder. complaintsboard.com - here I come.

Needed to locate an attorney in a state I didn't live in and used Legal Match. Obtained two referrals and spoke with both. One attorney was brief and didn't read my reason for needing an attorney prior to discussion. The other attorney did read my issue and was excellent. I hired him and continue to use his services. While this site will not necessarily result in a good match for everyone it did for me. It is definitely a resource that one should explore if a case needs to be reviewed and discussed as mine did. There is no obligation to hire an attorney. Attorneys who answer *** not be a good fit so the person seeking legal consul should talk to each recommendation. My experience was good and this site was the conduit to a professional who I hired.

I was misled into signing a contract with this company which I attempted to cancel within 3 business days. They refused to comply and keep charging me money (627/mo). They changed the terms and conditions agreed upon on a contract which I DocuSigned under duress (I was on the phone with one of their employees who was *** me to finish or I would not be eligible for a money back guarantee special offer).I am having to change my banking information because they refuse to refund my money and keep charging me - saying their contract is valid. Their money back guarantee is also fraudulent - because their service has not proven effective and has cost more than income generated. I am requesting that I be reimbursed and that they be investigated/sanctioned by the *** Attorney General.

I hired an attorney from legalmatch August . The attorney that I hired basically had me do all the work for her I contacted everybody that needed to be contacted I set up arrangements I even drove several hours to meet with her three separate times and she cancelled on me every time she was rude and when I had a serious issue she told me "that I needed to get over it, and that I needed to be more grateful for what she had done for me" Now I just lost my mother and this woman could not have been any more insensitive than what she was throughout the whole thing. Then before finishing she files a motion to withdraw which was fine we didn't get along but now I'm stuck in the middle of this succession not knowing what to do. I called the court and they told me about my attorney withdrawing from the case! I am extremely unsatisfied with her unprofessional behavior!

I was referred to *** for an attorney for my custody case I did a consultation with her within the first five minutes she requested money and said I need to hire her of course she didnt force me to but she also didnt answer a lot of my questions. I paid the 3K retainer she told me to call her the next day I did I got no response I called the following day and texted her got no response and then finally got a rude response after she told me to call her and get a hold of her apparently her availability all the sudden changed.. she did not make me feel confident that she could help me with my case My case is in less than a month I asked her if she came to my hearing is that part of the retainer if there would be another hearing she did not answer she was very wishy-washy and told me what I wanted to hear not what I needed to hear I would not hire her or recommend her for a custody battle case.

I was contacted by a sales person about partnering with Legal Match in the *** area. At the time, I was running a solo practice but had sent my resume to a law firm. I was very open about this. The sales person informed me, "Yeah, don't worry about it. If you get the job at the firm it's easy to assign the contract. We've got people lined up in the *** area. It's one of our most popular areas. But if you don't go ahead and sign up today then you're going to lose this spot." *** forward a few months, and I got the job at the law firm. But guess what? Not only was there not a line of people to whom I could assign the contract, Legal Match is unwilling to utilize their own sales people to try to find somebody to assign the contract to. I offered to continue to pay for the contract until an assignment was found, but their response was that it is the attorneys responsibility to find somebody to assign the contract to. These guys are used car salesmen employing deceitful sales tactics to score a cheap win.

Legal Match is not what their introduction says it is. The cases which are available are either too far, not serious about retaining an attorney or too small to warrant a minimum fee for my services. I realized this too late, three weeks into my contract. Legal Match was adamant; it refused to cancel my contract despite the fact that I offered to negotiate a reasonable penalty with them. Legal Match has no idea of the ethical aspects of the legal profession. The calls that I am supposed to make to clients (initially it was described as the clients calling me) are embarrassing, humiliating and a waste of time. In addition to this, Legal Match employees have been listening on my calls to my assigned Legal Match representative without advising me of the multiple listeners on my calls. Legal Match uses very lax ethical principles in dealing with its clients. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE. Legal Match is not an ethical, company with a transparent business practice. It is one more way to con attorneys out of their earnings. NOT RECOMMENDED

This business calls my firm at least once per month through different sales leaches trying to get us to sign up for their "services." After entertaining their presentation the first time, we've politely asked them to take us off of their call list as we have zero need to pay for clients. Just received a call from a "***" who was extraordinarily rude and unprofessional both before and after I told him we werent interested in paying for clients/"referrals" and to take us off of their list. He continued to cut me off, laugh at what I was saying, and mock our business as if Legal Match is the end all, be all. Pretty pathetic stuff. They continue to parade as if they are a legitimate intake or individual seeking legal aid, only to try to *** money out of our business once they get their foot in the door. Advice to other firms that they call: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Spend the *** minutes of your time that they'll steal begging for money to build your business yourself. Paying for clients is about as honorable as paying for votes or a trophy. Be better.

I bought into this scam. I hired an attorney through Legal Match (***) because the site stated if I hired an attorney through them I was insured for $2000. So I took the plunge and hired an attorney that contacted me through Legal Match. I paid the retaining amount in April that was supposed to get my probate case started. Since then, I have had only 4 conversations with the attorney and NOTHING has happened to date. I cannot even get a call back from the attorney. I have since tried CALLING Legal Match (using all the options on their menu) and cannot even get a callback from them. You cannot talk to i living person when you call their published number, only a recording tell you to leave a message. Don't waste your breath leaving one, because they are like the attorney I hired through them. They don't return calls either. This is a huge scam ring. Not only can I not file a claim for my lost $2000, but I also cannot track down the so called attorney I hired through them. Don't get ripped off like I did, stay the h*** away from this place and their scam artists.

I filled out the LegalMatch case description and I received several responses. I selected a Lawyer who indicated that she was interested in my case so I declined to other replies and went with her. First of all, she has not office and works from home. She quoted her retained in during the initial conversation and I agreed to the dollar amount. However, I indicated to her that it would be approx. a month before I would pay the retainer and that I would contact her when I was ready to retain her. It was approx. 3 weeks when I was prepared to pay her retainer. I contacted her to let her know that I had deposited the settlement check that I was going to use to retain her but the bank put a couple days hold on the check because of the amount of the check. Having communicated via text over the prior 3 week, she never indicated to me that she was going to increase her fee by $1,000.00 and that in 2 days I would have to pay the increase. Had she informed me prior to 2 days before the money would be available, I would have accepted the increase but the fact that she did not mention the increase to me, I decided not to go with her. She tried to convince me that I did not tell her that it would be 3 weeks before the money was available, then she got rude. So I told her not to contact me because I am looking to retain another lawyer. She lacks professionalism and she's sick.

When my mother passed with no will, I found out my sister was selling her house without including my brother and myself, I found Legal Match online and received a call *** from *** Law and Advocacy PLLC. I explained to her I wanted to stop the sale of our mother's house and to help us with probate court. She told me that she would stop our sister from selling the house and file some emergency papers to do just that. She was sent $2000.00 that day to do so. It was all a lie! all she did was send in a petition for conservatorship for another $ ***, which came back to me because the court said it was wrong. She re-did the petition, but this time it was $ *** which was mailed to her. While waiting on the court date we spoke, and she reassured me our sister could NOT sell the house. A month later a received a letter from a realtor wanting to buy the house and while we were talking, he informed me the property was sold already. I called *** and gave her the web site to look at the deed and to see what happened, she started talking about other avenues and more money I said no I'm not doing that. More than a month went buy not hearing a word from *** I wrote her a letter and stated her services were no longer needed. She didn't like that and stated she would return some of my money that has not happened. I was at the hearing on computer and come to find out she did that wrong too, the court said there was no Proof of Service for the people involved and I would have to reschedule at this point I feel like I've been taken for a ride and out of $2*** and my inheritance due to the fact *** did nothing but file (1) one petition that was meaningless and wants to keep my money. *** said she would return $600.00 to me and charge me $20.00 to do so, I told her that was not enough. I have yet to see a dime. This so-called lawyer needs to be reprimanded. Not only am I out $2*** I will NOT see a dime of my inheritance Thanks!

I am an attorney who signed a 3 year contract with Legal Match. First, they have you agree to receive client information from certain counties. But they will not tell you how many attorney's are receiving that same information in those counties. They tell you they will not saturate the county with attorneys so that a lot of attorneys are contacting the same people. But you have no way to verify that when they refuse to tell you how many lawyers are receiving the same leads. Second, they make you sign a long agreement and claim because of this, they're giving you a discount. But the 3 year contract is so that when you get dissatisfied with the service, you can't leave. You have to either find an attorney to take over your contract or buy your contract out. Now why would I spend $6,255 to buy myself out of a contract and get nothing in return? That would make no sense. So you're locked in to the contract you signed, even if you never get a single client. Now, once you get into the system and can see the potential clients, you can respond to them right away and they still not hire you. Because Legal Match doesn't do a good job of making these people aware of the average retainer or the average hourly rate. So when I quote my low rates, people act outraged, because the Legal Match website doesn't tell them retainers average between this and this. As a result they're unprepared for the amounts I quote, which are less than the average attorney in my field with 10 years of experience. So the leads you get through Legal Match are oftentimes people looking for pro *** work or people who can't even afford $2,500 retainers. I've brought this up to legal match and they haven't changed their screening to make sure that people can actually pay. Most of my time is wasted offering people free consultations that never hire me. When I have told Legal Match that the leads they send are worthless, they make it my fault. They said I didn't respond fast enough, or they look at how many times I've called someone or emailed someone. They take no responsibility for the quality of the leads they provide. When I look at the majority of the leads that come in through their website, those people haven't hired anyone. So it didn't matter how fast I called them back or how many times I emailed them. Not only did they not hire me, they didn't hire anyone else, which means they didn't have the money to pay any attorney. Legal Match will also tell you that you will have an account manager who will follow up calling and texting clients on your behalf. I have had so many different account managers in 2 years because their turnover is high. And every time I get assigned to a new account manager, they attempt to contact clients for a few days and then disappear. But let your payment not go through and Legal Match is quick to contact you! All they care about is that they get your money every month for your subscription. They don't care whether you get a single client or not. The other attorney complaints are absolutely valid and true. This service is NOT worth it. Do not enter a 2 or 3 year contract with this company for referrals. The majority of the people you are paying money every month to get their phone number, don't have the money to hire anyone. Legal Match doesn't make sure they can pay before they let them solicit attorneys. They also don't make sure people are serious about hiring an attorney. A lot of your time will be wasted talking to leads that never turn into clients. I of course will not be renewing my contract and I will be sure and post my review of this company anywhere I can, so that other attorney's don't make the same mistake I did. Do not listen to the if they say you are likely to get multiple via leads a month, you're not. Do not listen to them if they say you are likely to get multiple engagements a month, you're not. And when they give you access to their website and show you all the potential clients, don't let the quantity fool you because the quality is not there. It doesn't matter if 70 people write in per month if most of the don't even have $1000 for a retainer. Just as the other attorneys have said you will find yourself having to take partial payments, partial retainers and lower your rates if you want to get some of these clients and when you do that, you end up doing work for which you may never get paid. Try cheaper services that will allow you to advertise but that don't require such long contracts. THIS COMPANY IS NOT WORTH IT AND THEY ARE MAKING THEIR MONEY BY LOCKING ATTORNEYS INTO LONG CONTRACTS FOR WHICH YOU COULD BE PAYING THE MONEY AND NOT GETTING A CLIENT FOR MONTHS THROUGH THEIR SITE.

I am a paralegal that works with an attorney and agreed to do the documents for the supposedly many cases we would get off of being a member on LegalMatch.

False advertisement regarding number of cases to be retained and it is very difficult to retain any clients from LegalMatch.com's referral. False advertisement with regards to their Money Back Guarantee. LegalMatch boasted its 90*day Money Back Guarantee but when called on it said that was never offered in the contract. Unlicensed practice of law by LegalMatch non-attorney staff.

I hired a lawyer using legal match and the lawyer took my money and provided zero assistance, I have made several attempts to reach the attorney and have not received any call back. Legal match does not screen the lawyers and attorneys on there site. They provide false guarantees and do not follow up or follow through. I am currently in the process of contacting the *** and file a formal complaint. I am demanding a full refund from the attorney and or legal match.

Legal Match continues to contact the law office of *** III daily even though they have been told repeatedly the attorney is not interested. I have requested multiple times that they stop calling and they generally just hang up but today *** stated she can not remove us from the call list unless she speaks with the attorney. I have been the office manager for the past thirteen years and I handle these situations for our office. After the way their people have acted we wouldn't' want to do business with them anyway.

An individual from Legal Match called my law firm, represented himself as ***, an Attorney, and told me he wanted to discuss some cases with me regarding estate litigation and refer them to me. We scheduled a call for 3:00. At 3:00, a female called me telling me she wanted to give me access to her client files. She then told me to go to the website, legal match. I then confronted her about being with legal match, not a law firm. I then asked her directly if *** is an attorney. She admitted he wasn't. Nobody ever identified themselves as legal match representatives. They lied and completely misrepresented who they were and the purpose of their call.

I hired a lawyer *** through legal match. I paid the lawyer *** only to find out she had no experience in the case Legal match has her listed for. How is this? We fired her within two weeks. Legal match sent me an email stating they guarantee *** dollars if you are not happy. Well the lawyer refused to even refund ***. I can't even reach legal match. Legal match if you cant screen your lawyers for family cases please don't list them. i would like the guarantee fee or at least *** from the so call lawyer. after i hired through legal match, i see the lawyer has a catch phase to helping kids that she tells clients it was sad. legal match is this who you want to be pushing on people? Purchased what was supposed to be 25 Personal Injury leads per month (in writing). 12 month contract. I received no more than 3 leads that could be qualified as personal injury the first month, even less the second month. When I called ti express frustration I was continuously cut off by the manager, to the point that I just had to hang up the phone as I was not even given a chance to speak. The answer I received was that they dont know what leads Ill actually get, that they never stated 25 leads. Im reality, the salesperson expressly wrote an average of 25. They have refused to do anything about it and have offered no resolution or recourse. Company is a sham. *** you in with promising whatever is necessary to get you to sign and then youre left with no option once you discover their claims were all fraudulent.

A *** has called my office from Legal match today I advised him after he was being evasive answering my questions that we have requested to be removed from their list and we are not interested. He said oh really, I would like to hear that from the business owner. I told him I am the office manager and I make those decisions for our company and have for the past 11 years. His response was "Oh really?" I said yes really he said well I will call back another time to speak with the owner i said no you need to remove us from your list, and he hung up. I find this tactic of sales sleezy and tacky at best. I want to be removed from their calling list and after this call I would NEVER consider them. *** Computer at *** also shows up on the caller ID - they are not *** Computer. This is misleading and misrepresentation of their business.

I hire a lawyer *** through Legal Match to clear a lien on our home title something that according to all of thew other lawyers that I spoke to said that it would take 2 months at the most to complete the process and to get it done/clear since we had already started and looked up and contacted different financial companies, anyways, we still needed to go the legal way the propper way, out the 4 o 5 lawyers that contacted me after doing the Legal Match process we went with this guy because he is local and gave us the best price but we did not know that the price would not give us any results . It has been 5 months since we gave him our case and everytime I manage to talk him because is not easy to get a hold of this guy he says that hes waiting for the process server to get back to him and hear from the courts that he was trying to do it the easy way, obviously his easy way did not work

HI, MY NAME IS *** and as of last November Ir retained a lawyer through the web site legal match. I factually described my family law problem and actually got a few responses. The lawyer I choose was the one with the lowest hourly rate of $250. Little did I know that she was very new to the practice of family law ( referenced by the *** BAR OF Alameda) initially she wanted $3000.00 start and with couple weeks another $3000.00. Her scope of handling the case was to serve a complaint to my ex-husband. At the time he was still living in Contra Costa County for 6 weeks after I retained her. (Her office was in the same city as where my husband had his residence) For some reason she was unable to preform that.Afterwards , I gave her his new address in ***, along with the address of his girlfriend in ***, including a copy of the driver's license. He was very elusive to get served and I got charged a lot for the service, but I advised her to act swiftly.

Lawyers solicited me from my legalmatch ad. Lawyer referred me to s lawyer clearly doing this guy's ambulance-chasing. Drove 4 hours for consultation with family member and lawyer. Paid 500. This was March. We are doing Court in 2 weeks a family matter and this lawyer has disappeared. I have sent over 25 emails text messages phone calls and complaints to ambulance-chasing attorney who referred me from legalmatch. This will not go unnoticed I intend to file a complaint with the *** and attorney general in ***. Shame on this attorney he is going to jeopardize our case. This is pathetic service from legal match as they are not policing who they allow to be attorney on their site secondly nobody should be ambulance-chasing and I have had it out with them several times and they claim to not know that the attorney is taking money and not performing. His name is *** he has a low Bowl paid for by the month office in *** and another nearby City. This is pathetic this is unethical and it is illegal and it's enough to get somebody disbarred if there's enough fraud by ***. I want my money back I want an explanation or this idiot better get his rear end into court.

Ongoing since Oct. 2021. I contracted Attorney *** through lagalmatch.com .The case was to terminate my parents trust as the trustees decided they did not want to fulfill their duty and make a new trust. The agreement was that I would pay him as soon as mom's house sold. My dad passed away years ago and my mom passed away on August 23. The house sold on May 4, 2022. *** was paid. I have repeatedly asked him what was needed to get the official trust done and have as of yet, have not been answered. He does not communicate well and I have to message, email, and call him several times to get a response. He makes appointments onl to let me know that either he isn't prepared and needs more time or he has another client to take care of. One time he was supposed to meet with my daughters and him at our house at 1pm . He didn't show up until 7 pm, forgot his paperwork, he had to go to the hotel to get the papers from the hotel and ended up going over everything ntil 11 pm. To this day, June 23, I have not been able to get him to finish what he was contracted to do and what he invoiced as done. All I want is to get my final official trust done and over with so I can get closure. I have all my messages and emails if needed.

Good morning, I had a Legal/Estate issue that I did not know how to resolve. I used Legal Match to help me enlist an attorney. On March 25th I posted my case on Legal Match. I saw their Satisfaction Guarantee and felt safe using their website. After talking with this attorney I signed a Legal Representation Agreement with him and sent him $1000. He has never contacted me again. I have left him multiple voicemails and sent numerous emails. This has now gone on for over 3 months with no contact from him (***).The problem with Legal Match is that I have now left them Numerous voicemails and and sent 2 emails to customer service and they have not returned a single call or responded to either email. Their Satisfaction Guarantee clearly states that they will assist and even compensate in some cases up to $1000. I cannot even get them to return a call or email. I would like them to honor their Satisfaction Guarantee and/or at least return my phone calls and emails. The quote from Legal Matches Guarantee is "Notify us immediately in case of a serious dispute with your lawyer and opt to try to resolve it through our channels first, before going to the courts or bar associations". Unfortunately they do not honor this. They do not return calls/Emails and they do not help resolve issues. Their guarantee is a complete Lie and misrepresentation.

I signed up with legal match to receive family law client leads. I was to receive leads beginning Monday November 28. I set up my account with a representative during our initial call. I tried to sign into the account I had set up with the representative (on November 29) and was informed that I was locked out. I checked my bank account and they withdrew my payment of $796 but my account needed to access the client tips was inaccessible. I then received emails indicating that the company representative had called me and left me voice mails when no calls were received. I even set up a date and time with him via email for a teleconference today and he failed to call but send another email stating that he had done so. I emailed after he failed to call for our orientation today and let him know that I wanted to terminate our agreement due to the failed communication/orientation and my inability to access the leads I was paying for. Additionally, I do not to work with.a business that lies regarding their efforts to communicate with me. They billed my account on Monday November 29 for $796 dollars. I have been lied to regarding efforts to hold an orientation with me and have been locked out of the leads I have paid for. I have sent them an email to advise them of my desire to terminate our agreement for the reasons I stated and all they want to do is argue and state that I signed a contract. I would like my payment returned and my contract terminated. I consider their locking me out of my tip account and failure to conduct my orientation as agreed and their dishonesty regarding calls they alleged to have made to me a material breach of contract and I do not wish to be associated with a company that conducts themselves in this manner.

I am an attorney registered in California. I got this phone solicitation from LegalMatch.com to purchase their referral services. There are a few issues with my complaint. First, false advertisement with regards to number of cases I would be able to retain. I was told over the phone that LegalMatch spent billions of dollars on advertisement and there are many cases every month. The representative told me that I would retain at least 2-3 clients every month and each month there should be more than 30 cases in my folder. It turned out that there are only 9 cases in January. And I do not know how many attorneys have to share the referral. I find it very difficult to retain any clients from LegalMatch.com's referral Second, false advertisement with regards to their Money Back Guarantee. LegalMatch boasted its Money Back Guarantee and promised to give attorneys the difference of income from LegalMatch and the monthly fee, which is $472 monthly for the first year and about $500 monthly for the second year. However, when I asked the representative to give me the price difference for the first month since I retained zero clients, she refused and claimed that I have to meet certain terms and conditions not listed in my contract and even if I meet the T&C, I have to wait for the expiry of the two year service agreement. Third, interference with my normal legal practice. I am only licensed to practice law in CA but LegalMatch gave me cases outside my jurisdiction and they claimed that they did this based on the time zone. So basically, a substantial amount of my cases are from Oregon, Washington State, and Nevada. And I had to turned down many cases they gave to me. Fourth, unlicensed practice of law by LegalMatch non-attorney staff. Some non-attorney staff from LegalMatch was giving me guidance as to how to practice law while these people were not licensed anywhere.

This company makes false promises to attorneys in order to sign them up for a "subscription" service to access legal case leads that are obtained from the general public. The cost is expensive and billed monthly no matter what business it generates, but you are told there are hundreds of leads.Note, this is NOT ab advertisement subscription. They never disclose your firm to their clients until you contact the client. You are signing up for the opportunity to view and pitch the people they recruit on their website who are looking for legal help. Therefore, EVERYTHING hinges on the quality and quantity of leads that they show you during the "sales pitch."That is part one of this complaint. After signing up based on the sales person's representations, I found out that the hundreds of "leads" I had been shown were outdated and not a legitimate representation of the actual leads available. I also strongly believe that the leads I was shown were "edited" and not the actual leads that come through. You are told that there is a very stringent screening process, but in my experience, there was no screening process at all. Many "leads" had no information in them at all, but were just random letters. This happened quite often. If there were ANY screening process, then how can a lead with NO information in it make it through the screen. In addition, a majority of the leads I saw were not even in the field I had signed up for (entertainment law). I was seeing criminal law, and a TON of complaints of people being scammed on the internet.The second part of my complaint is that the salesperson never told me that there was a two year commitment. They literally said I would have one year to evaluate the service. So the contract electronically sent to me did NOT match what the sales person represented to me. These are both misrepresentations and represent a classic bait and switch.
