Laz parking is trying to charge me for the month of August, when I only utilized their parking lot for the months of June and July. I paid my June parking fee on Spothero, which created a lot of confusion with the parking attendants up front. For the month of July, they insisted that I needed to pay on the Laz parking app in order to continue parking there. The attendants told me to reach out to the parking lot manager, Benyam Bemnet, to figure out what I needed to do in order to park there. Mr. Bemnet replied to me the next day telling me how I'd have to make a Laz account and pay there. After I did so, I asked him to confirm that my payment had gone through and that I was good to park there, which was on 30 June. He replied saying that he'd check the following day and let me know. On 1 July, I emailed him asking if he confirmed that they received my payment confirmation and he did not reply. I emailed him again on 6 July, and he still never replied to me. On 7 July, I showed up at the lot and attempted to park there, but the attendant would not allow me to park there without direct approval from Mr. Bemnet. After the attendant called him, Mr. Bemnet said that I needed to forward him the receipt that I received from Laz via email, so he could verify its validity. I would have happily done that days ago however, he never replied to my email, so I had to wait in the parking lot for an hour for Mr. Bemnet to call the attendant back and let him know that I was cleared to park there. Mr. Bemnet finally replied to my email on 9 July and told me I needed to pickup my pass from the parking attendant the next day. When I did so, I read on the parking pass that subscription cancellations require a 30 day notice, which was the first time that had ever been made apparent to me. I only ever needed parking from June to mid-July, and I tried explaining this to the parking attendants, but they struggled to understand me due to the language barrier. Due to Mr. Bemnet's lack of responsiveness, I did not find out about the 30 day notice requirement for subscription cancellations until I was already within that 30 day window. I'm unsure of whether his slow response was intentional to get me to pay for another month, or if it was due to poor customer service skills. Regardless, they are trying to charge me for August, when I stopped using their services mid-July. If Laz is going to have a 30 day notice requirement for subscription cancellation, that should be made clear to the customer up front, not when he's trying to cancel.
Claimed loss: $250
Desired outcome: I would like to not be charged a $250 parking fee for the month of August since I will not be utilizing that service.
