I paid for 2 hours parking in the South Alamo Lot in San Antonio for dinner and left about 40 minutes too late. The parking cost was $13.50 for 2 hours. (11.25 cents/hour). They sent a bill with a $102 fine for the extra 42 minutes. I would be happy to pay an extra $5 (42 min x $0.1125/min = $4.73) and maybe even a $20 fine, but where does $102 come from? Seems like greed and taking advantage of the customers. It is not just to make up for lost time in the lot, which was almost completely empty when I left.
Recommendation: I would avoid parking with LAZ in San Antonio or watch the clock very closely to avoid punitive fines.
