I am filing this complaint about one of the cashier's in the Springfield, TN store. The cashier's name is Vanessa. She was our cashier today (11/12/19) finishing at 4:29pm but leaving some of the groceries (9 items) at the end of the conveyor belt causing the next cashier Tavian to complete a 2nd checkout for the balance of the groceries. Although this was very inconvenient (Thank God we had another check with us), more serious are the other complaints about Vanessa. During our checkout Vanessa was NOT giving her job nor your customer the attention we have come to expect from Kroger employees. Vanessa was busy talking to the person bagging our groceries about her health and her boyfriend's health (both going deaf...) and handing packed bags to my husband to put in the cart distracting him while she took his blank personal check, did what she did with the register and just put it in the drawer of the cash register without even showing him the amount typed onto the check (as we understand is the expected practice). We also usually expect the bagger to put the groceries in the cart not the cashier bagging groceries and then handing them to the customer to put them in the cart (especially when she had a bagger). It's one thing if the customer volunteers to perform this task but not really something expected after spending almost $400 (total of both checkouts) in your place of business). We believe Kroger management expects better customer service from their employees so we felt compelled to let you know what happened today. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
